Kristin´s Kandles haul

Kristin´s Kandles is one of my favorite tart vendors right now, she has couple of scents that I didn´t find anywhere else that I just love!

I recently took advantage of a sale where you could get 2 free votives and a free 2-pack (I am not sure anymore if I got free shipping, too).
I ordered 6-packs of my favorite scents Baby´s Bath, Oatmeal, Milk & Honey and of 2 other scents (Fruit Loops and Mandarin Spritz). I also got 2-packs in Ozark Mountain Honey, Maple Pecan Cheesecake, Vanilla Velvet and Cheesecake (my freebie), I told her to just send over 2 fresh or spa type votives so I got Misty Moon and Country Clothesline.
I just placed another order for 16oz. tart brittle in Baby´s Bath and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, These 2 scents are just so amazing! I think these are the same scent oils that Three Sisters Soap are using (Baby´s Bath = Got Milk? and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey is the same scent).

Kristin´s tarts are quite big and I always melt a whole piece. In my opinion they need about 2-3 weeks curing time then the tarts throw really nicely, especially in a hot plate warmer!

Daily wax melts September 29th 2012

I was in a lemon bakery and tea kinda mood today =)

-Scentsationals Fireworks (2 cubes) in the first floor in my 20W hot plate warmer. This is an awesome scent! A kinda complex scent with notes of tangerine or another sweet citrus blend. But there is so much more to this I can´t describe! Super strong throw and amazing lasting power (it´s still going strong right now after about 10 hours)

-Pics, Petals & Scents Nana´s Lemon Pound Cake in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. A really yummy lemon bakery scent with a good throw and lasting power!

-CFTKR Tea and Cake on my 24W hot plate in the living room. Another winner for today! A super strong black tea with a creamy cake scent. This also has excellent staying power (also still going well now after 10 hrs). Really love this scent and would definitely buy a big 8oz bag!

-Scentsy Lemon Coconut Chiffon (2 cubes) in my Whoot Scentsy warmer in the living room. This is a nice scent with a light-medium throw however it does have a slight plastic note to it. So far I am also not sure how much I like the Scentsy warmer, it doesn't seem to get really that hot!

Pics, Petals & Scents haul

I saw a few youtube videos on Pics, Petals & Scents, a new-to-me tart vendor selling her goodies on Etsy (Click HERE). The seller´s name is Marcy and she is also in my favorite FB wax group and she´s really a sweetheart =)
I definitely couldn´t resist those super pretty and cute goodies! Alone looking at these goodies and sniffing them cold makes me happy =)

I ordered a big loaf in Frosted Lemon Birthday Cake, 4 chocolate bars (4 scents) and 8 cake slices (in 4 different scents). In my opinion her prices are really good and she included a truck load of free extras (on the first pic everything beside the chocolate bars and in the bottom row were freebies!).
TAT was fine with me, I think around 10 days or so but I was kept informed about the order status.

I melted several of her tarts with mixed (but rather positive) results. The loaf is totally awesome! The cake slice in Vanilla Bean Toasted Marshmallow didn´t have any throw whatsoever (though by default this should be a lighter scent and I will try the 2nd slice in my bedroom). I also loved the sample in Fresh Baked Orange Danish (I meanwhile ordered a loaf in this). Away from that I still didn´t try most of the tarts and I want to let everything cure a little longer.

Overall you can count me impressed so far =) Looking forward to my 2 loaves that should be arriving within the next couple of weeks. =)

Daily wax melts September 28th 2012

Yesterday was such a busy day that I didn´t melt anything. Today I decided on (and the colors don´t match bleh lol)

-Mylingy´s Purrfect Candles in Ocean on my 20W hot plate in the first floor. This had zero throw, I couldn´t smell anything. To be fair most of Mylingy´s have been quite nice and about medium strong but this was a dud.

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents in Raspberry Lemonade (2 cubes) in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. Every single Haley´s I tried so far has been strong and this was no exception. A beautiful sweet raspberry and lemonade scent that lasted well and threw nicely.

-Front Porch Fruity Loops in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. As expected this was super duper strong and just an awesome citrus bakery scent. Threw all day long and I can still smell it now, appprox. 13 hrs after I started melting.

-Ariel´s Secret Garden Monkey Farts in my new Whoot Scentsy lightbulb warmer in the living room. This smelled pretty strong cold and is made of a hard wax so I think this needs a hot plate as I didn´t get any kinda throw. Will test these more on a hot plate! These little scent shots were freebies with a soap order as so far I haven´t seen Sherri list these in her store yet however she is now selling tarts in cute shapes =)

Daily wax melts September 26th 2012

And yet another wax melt day passed =) I delighted myself with the following scents:

-Kristin´s Kandles Eucalyptus in the first floor on my 20W hot plate. I am not fond of this scent as it´s not herbal but rather perfumey. Throw and lasting power was good though.

-Front Porch Lemon Cotton Candy in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. I think FP tarts just need a hot plate as the throw was just mediocre. The scent was really yummy though - a really sweet lemon candy mix. Lasting power was good, too!

-Pics, Petals and Scents Frosted Lemon Birthday Cake on my 24W hot plate. I scooped about an oz of wax out of my loaf and it was absolutely AMAZING! A super strong long-lasting lemon bakery scent. I am so thrilled with this and I am so happy I have a whole loaf of this stuff!

-Scentsy Happy Birthday (1 cube) in my 25W lightbulb melter. This had a very light but pleasant kind of scent. Staying power was ok but next time I´ll use 2 cubes. The Pics, Petals & Scents tart overpowered this anyway =)

Tiffany Candles haul

I ordered from Tiffany Candles a while ago when she used the old style packaging (like Kim´s tarts) and the old wax and I wash´t really a fan... also due to the scents I chose I guess!

However on my fave Youtube channels I saw more and more rave reviews for Tiffany pop up so I certainly couldn´t resist to place an order. Since shipping was free for orders $50+ I took advantage of that =) 

The current rave scents are Stress Relief, Sinus Relief, Doughnut Shop, Gooey Doughnut Shop and Serendipity. I picked up a good bunch of scents along with 3 wood wick candles (they are awesome and crackle so loud!). Doughnut Shop is too strong cinnamon for me but I love Stress Relief and Sinus Relief! 

I let these cure for a week or 2 and I think they perform really well, especially on the hot plates!

Here are my selections for 9/25:

-Country Home Scent Day Spa in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. This was a nice fresh spa scent but the scent throw was light however lasting power was good.

-Sweet Fixations Orange Cream Cupcake in my kitchen in a tealight melter. This had almost no throw so I was very disappointed with this one. I am pretty much done with SF and will probably remove the remaining few tarts from my stash.

-CFTKR Pink Sugar Milk in my 24W hot plate in the living room. This was such a nice scent! Even though by default not a super strong tart the scent was detectable an lingered all day long! It was a really pleasant milky pink sugar scent (you could really smell the milk!) and I really enjoyed it. I think this would be an awesome bedroom scent, too!

-The Bathing Garden Sugared Pie Crust (2 cubes) in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. I didn´t really like this. It was very light and what I could smell even had a slight plastic note. Overall not a tart I really enjoyed.

Daily wax melts September 24th 2012

-Three Sisters Soap Got Milk? in my 25W lightbulb warmer in my bedroom. My fave bedroom scent. Such a sweet but clean baby scent. A bit like a baby bath or shampoo. I believe that Kristin´s Kandles Baby's Bath is actually the same scent as they smell so much alike. Scent throw was great and longevity was awesome for such a small 1oz cup. I got 2 days out of this scent shot!

-Kristin´s Kandles Ozark Honey in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. Kristin´s Kandles really perform amazingly for me. In a hot plate they are pretty strong and they last long. I recommend giving them a curing time of 2-3 weeks as then they start to bloom to their full potential! Ozark Honey was a soft floral mixed with honey. It was really filling my first floor and even wafted down into my living area!

-Three Sisters Soap Lavender Apples & Oak in my kitchen in the tealight warmer. A very nice strong fresh scent bordering toilet cleanser. I actually wanted to pop it in the warmer in my 1st floor and the ozark honey in the kitchen but I was scatterbrained as always lol. Scent throw and lasting power were good though!

-CFTKR Pumpkin Marshmallow Sugar Cookies in my 24W hot plate in the living room. This was a strong scent but I really disliked it, it made me slightly sick. Wouldn´t melt this again but as a general thing CFTKR tarts are super awesome! It´s just subjective that this scent is not for me. I replaced it with something else but I can´t remember what it was!

-Shayz Scenty Pink Sugared Cookie in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. Shayz don´t perform well in lightbulb warmers. I just got a light pink sugar scent and it didn´t last very long. I will always use 2 Shayz tarts and only on hot plates or in tealight warmers.

Here is my scent list of 23/09:

-Tiffany Candles Pink Peppermint in my bedroom in a 25W lightbulb warmer. This is such an awesome blend of peppermint and pink sugar. A very nice relaxing and refreshing scent. Scent throw was good and lasting power ditto.

-Angel Made Scents Cherry Margarita jumbo tart in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. This was a strong lime and cherry scent that threw well all day long. I got a bit tired of it by the evening though but all in all it was a really good scent.

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Key Lime Pie in the kitchen in my tealight warmer. This was a really delicious scent with a medium throw and good longevity. So far except for maybe one scent YOCC didn´t have a great scent throw for me.

-The Bathing Garden Samba (my own creation), 1 cube in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room and 1 cube in my 24W hot plate warmer. This was awesome! A refreshing orange-chili blend with a hint of banana (not strong, I dislike banana tarts!). Scent throw was medium and lasting power average (4-5 hours).

Daily Wax Melts September 22nd 2012

Only showing 3 melts of September 22nd. I am not sure what I had going in my bedroom but I think it was a cube of the Sleepy tart from The Bathing Garden (which was really good).

-CFTKR Shampoo de Luxe in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. This was so super strong it overpowered the other melts going on in my house. A very strong slightly powdery fresh scent. Not my fave though!

-Country Home Scent Warm Orange Danish in a tealight warmer in my kitchen. This was one of the weakest orange danish kinda scents I tried so far. The scent itself was super yummy though.

-Tiffany Candles Fruity Loops in a 24W hot plate warmer in my living room. A great citrusy bakery scent. Really a pretty scent but the CFTKR tart took over my house lol

Daily wax melts September 21st 2012

Here are my wax melts for September 21st:

-FussAssMcGee Vanilla Bean Noel (3 cubes) in my tealight warmer in the bedroom. This had a very light throw despite using 3 cubes. As I mentioned in another post FussAssMcGee needs some curing time as most tarts smelled very faint when I received them. After sitting for some weeks most of the scents turned out nicely though! VBN is a light scent by default and I would not repurchase this.

--A Breath of French Air Fresh Linen (the last 2 tarts) in my 20W warmer in the first floor. This was such an awesome sweet laundry scent as I reviewed before and it had a great throw and lasting power! This was different from other laundry scents as it had a pleasant sweet note to it. Loved it!

-Scentsationals Harvest Moon (1 cube) in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. A nice classic fall scent. Slightly spicy and with a tinge of a leaf scent. Really liked this one! Scent throw was good with one cube however the lasting power wash´t as long as I wanted.

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Totally Scrumptious in my 24W hot plate warmer in my living room. This was a very interesting scent, a mix of chocolate and a citrus blend. I just have a slight problem with the scent strength in the majority of my YOCC tarts. It was detectable but not as strong as I would have liked but the staying power was ok.

-Pics. Petals & Scents Fresh Baked Orange Danish in a tealight warmer in my living room. This was totally awesome. I used only one of the 2 small bundt cakes and the throw and lasting power were amazing. I generally love the orange danish scent you find from many vendors but this was especially awesome!

Scentsationals fall haul

Not being in the USA I don´t have access easily to Scentsationals and Better Homes & Gardens unless when I spot some at a decent price on eBay. I won a lot of 5 new autumn scents from Scentsationals tarts recently and I quite like them all.
Autumn Leaves is my favorite, it´s such an awesome crisp fall scent!
I got:
Autumn Walk, Autumn Leaves, Autumn Breeze, Intrigue and Harvest Moon.

Daily Wax Melts September 20th 2012

My picks for 9/20 were:

-Tiffany Candles Sinus Relief in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the bedroom. A gorgeous blend of spearmint, peppermint and I eucalyptus (I believe). Smells a lot like the Stress Relief candle from B&BW. Stayed well and had a nice scent throw. 

-The Bathing Garden Midnight Masquerade (2 cubes) on my 20W hot plate in the first floor. Albeit this is a super light scent cold (barely detectable) it blooms like all TBG scents into a nice scent throw (I´d say light-medium for this scent) and lingered for quite most of the day. A perfumey slightly musky but creamy kinda scent,

-Country Home Scent Peach Cobbler in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. This had good scent throw and lasted most of the day but I wash´t so fond of this peachy bakery scent.

-Lasting Scent Candles Blackberry Plum Tea on my 24W hot plate in the living room. A pretty unique plum berry scent with an interesting black tea note.  I really liked this but it could have been even a bit stronger for my taste. Otherwise staying power was good.

-Scentsy Sunkissed Citrus (1 cube) in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. This was awesome, very strong and with excellent staying power. It overpowered the LSC melt a bit but it was really a nice refreshing orange lemon scent.

Daily Wax Melts September 19th 2012

I overdid on the cinnamon today lol so I suffered a mild case of cinnamon intoxication =X
I melted the following scents:

-La Dolce Vita (an Etsy shop) Natural Soy Melts in Lavender Vanilla (2 cubes) in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the bedroom. La Dolce Vita really makes great tarts with good scent throw and nice lasting power. I have 5 clamshells from her and they are all great. This is a lavender vanilla similar to the Yankee version. 

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Zucchini Bread Noel in my 20W hot plate melter in the first floor. This smelled really good though the vanilla note didn´t really come through so it smelled pretty much like a creamy zucchini bread. Staying power was good and scent throw about medium I´d say.

-Front Porch Cake Batter Funnel Cake in a tealight warmer in my kitchen. I didn´t like this scent at all. It was a weird sorta greasy chocolate smell. It wasn´t strong though and I didn´t relight the tealight once it was out.

-Tiffany Candles Doughnut Shop in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. A strong cinnamon bakery scent. It was really strong and stayed very well. It was giving me a headache though and I was so stupid to pair it with:

-The Bathing Garden Frosted Vanilla Graham Crackers in a 25W lightbulb warmer in my living room (my living-dining area is really huge so I put this warmer in the other corner). A strong cinnamon bakery scent with excellent scent throw and tremendous staying power. It was too much for me though paired with Tiffany´s Doughnut Shop.

CFTKR haul

I hauled a few things from CFTKR recently as I wanted another 24W hot plate for my mum and I also was interested in picking up a few of the new leave-shaped fall scents. 

As always the shipping was lightning fast (within a day) and Carol included 6 samples which is so generous! I requested non-spicy fall/holiday scents and everything I got smells awesome!

I got 4 oz bags of Autumn Magic, Autumn Morn, Autumn Lodge and Christmas Thyme. The first three are leave-shaped and Christmas Thyme comes in a pinecone shape.

-Autumn Magic: Autumn comes to life in this magical fragrance.  Autumn magic starts with top notes of lemon and apple; followed by middle notes of anise, cinnamon, and ginger; sitting on well-rounded base notes of woods, musk, and vanilla.

-Autumn Morn: A cheerful fall welcome with the spicy warmth of autumn leaves, cinnamon apples, nutmeg and clove.

-Autumn Lodge: A nostalgic blend of country woods and spices- a warm cozy fireplace, and Grandpa's pipe. ->This smells a lot like plum pipe tobacco. It smells pleasant but I am not sure if I want my house to smell like pipe tobacco (we are all non-smokers) lol

-Christmas Thyme: The aroma of bayberries and apples with a base note of fresh pine needles and thyme, with a top note of freshly ground cinnamon bark.

Daily Wax Melts September 18th 2012

Another fall day =) 

-Scentsy Just Breathe (1 cube) in my bedroom. This was extremely pleasant and refreshing. It was pretty strong even with just one cube! This smells like eucalyptus and peppermint.

-Nellie´s Acres palm wax tart in Lavender Vanilla in my 20W hot plate melter in the 1st floor. This had a  very light scent throw only though what I could detect stayed very well but as I said, just a faint scent. I don´t seem to be very lucky with palm wax tarts in general even though I like how easy they are to clean up (as I neither need to pour out the hot wax nor need to freeze the bowl to pop the wax out) but in general the scent throw so far has been too weak for my taste.

-Shayz Scentz Pink Brownie in my kitchen (one chocolate bar). This was surprisingly super strong and stayed well most of the day. This was a mix of chocolate and pink sugar and was a really good scent and I enjoyed it very much!

-CFTKR Autumn Magic in my living room in my 24W hot plate warmer. This was a great fall scent albeit not spicy at all. This had a sort of creamy slightly perfumey scent and the scent throw and staying power was great!

The Bathing Garden prize from her collection contest

Recently Shannon from The Bathing Garden on Etsy held a contest where ppl could create their own tart collections consisting of 5 scents. One could also name the tarts and pick the colors. I submitted 2 collections (which was the max per person) and indeed my "Dance" collection was one of the winners.
The prize each of the winners got where their own collection and 5 pcs of their choice from any of the other collections.

My tarts were:

1. Rock ‘n’ Roll- Bubblegum and lollipops

2. Samba- Oranges, bananas and chili peppers.

3. Tango- Jasmine, mandarin, musk and rose.

4. Waltz- Lavender over pink sugar vanilla milk.

5. Rumba- Pineapple sugar cookie with a hint of spice

And I picked the following 5 tarts as my extras:

Warm and Cozy- Honey, chai tea, and cream.

Blueberry Lavender Ice Cream- Vanilla bean ice cream, dried lavender flowers, cane sugar, and ripe blueberries.

Gone with the Wind- Sweet potato pumpkin over pecan pie.
Sleepy- Pink sugar, peppermint, with and undertone of vanilla
Mrs. Chancellor- Chai tea with lemon biscotti.

As a nice extra I received a 4oz tub of "Merlia the Mermaid" scrub which is a double-layered sugar scrub smelling like:

Top Layer: Pineapple Butter cream
Bottom Layer: Pink sugar cherry coconut cupcake

I could only smell the top part so far and it smells scrumptious!

All of the tarts smell awesome and I am very grateful that Shannon picked me as one of her winners. I haven´t seen my collection listed in her shop though so I am not sure if she´s really going to sell it. Many of the other tarts by other winners are up and online there though!

Scentsy haul

I recently placed my first order in a Scentsy online party hosted by one of the ladies in my fave FB wax group =) it took like 8 days to arrive but everything came in perfect condition in Scentsy's usual thermo-bag with ice packs.
I ordered two 6-packs for $25/each whereas the single tart packs retail for $5 so it was like getting 2 free bars.

I am pretty happy with my scent choices, especially loving Mediterranean Spa and Just Breathe!
