Daily wax melts January 7th 2013

-The Bathing Garden Frosted Marshmallow (2 cubes) in the bedroom (24W hot plate). I had this scent for such a long time I finally decided to melt it. I was hesitant because it is so very light on cold sniff however when I melted it I was deeply impressed! This is a sweet soft fluffy sugared marshmallow scent and it was awesome and made me sleep so well lol! (took a nap in the morning). Stayed strong till the night! Love it!!

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Hawaiian Ginger in the 2nd floor (tealight). A fresh sweet and slightly floral scent that was really good and strong. I enjoyed this a lot!

-Kristin´s Kandles Pink Sugar Fresh Linen in the 1st floor (a big hand full, 25W lightbulb). The blend of a soft laundry scent and really sweet pink sugar is really good but the strength isn´t great. This is a pretty old bag of chunks though as I can tell from the label and the fact that I got it from a destash package. 

-Jaimie Lauren Cupcakery & Confections in Wax in Turtle Brownie in the kitchen (tealight). I am not usually a fan of chocolate scents but this was really good. It was sweet, gooey, super strong and lasted all day long. Awesome!

-Frostings Candy Cane Creamies in the living room (24W hot plate). This smelled sweet, I even felt I got a slight serendipity note from this? It wasn´t so strong and there was no mint that I could detect in the scent so it´s not something I would order again.

-Lasting Scent Candles Pink Cherry Crunch in the living room (24W hot plate). this was a really weak scent I got barely any throw from this. I think I replaced the 2 living room melts by midday.

Daily wax melts December 30th 2012

-The Bathing Garden Lemon Mint (2 cubes) in the bedroom (24W hot plate). This is one of my favorite TBG scents as it´s a refreshing and very well balanced between the mint and the citrus notes. This isn´t really her strongest scent but it filled up my bedroom easily and lingered through most of the day.

-Kristin´s Kandles Country Clothesline in the 2nd floor (tealight). This was a good pretty strong but not overpowering laundry scent with good staying power. I prefer the laundry scents to be medium-strong at most as otherwise they can cause me a severe headache.

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Bayberry in the first floor (25W lightbulb). This was amazingly long-lasting and strong. It was a very christmasy refreshing berry scent and I really enjoyed it. 

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents Lemon Noel (2 cubes) in the kitchen (tealight). I love this scent as it´s strong and sooooo delicious! A sweet lemon vanilla scent and absolutely repurchase-worthy!

-Front Porch Sugar Cookies in the living room (24W hot plate). This was an almost sickeningly sweet sugary bakery scent.  I didn´t really like it that much but it was strong and lasted well. 

-CFTKR Creamy Comfort in the living room (24W hot plate). This was also a very sweet scent but a bit more tame than the FP one as in not so sickening. Not a huge fan of this though but this lasted and was strong, too.

Daily wax melts December 12th 2012

-CFTKR Holiday Sparkle in the bedroom (2 snowflakes, 24W hot plate). I got this from a destash package and I feel it´s on the older side. Anyway, 2 tarts scented up my bedroom nicely with a fresh pepperminty Xmas scent. This definitely had no spice whatsoever, so it was very suitable. Good strong scent and lasting power with this one!

-The Bathing Garden Tango in the first floor (24W hot plate, 2 cubes). This was one of the tarts I created for her contest and since I won I got my collection back in August. The notes are jasmine, mandarin, musk, and rose and I could mainly smell rose mixed with something fresher. I really liked this scent even though I am not a big floral person. Also this lasted all day long and was really strong.

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents Zucchini Bread in the kitchen (tealight). I used 2 cubes and this was just a standard creamy zucchini scent. Strength was about medium and lasting power was average (about 5-6 hours).

-Kristin´s Kandles Lemon Pound Cake in the living room (24W hot plate). Kristin read my blog and noticed I was not that happy with her Lemon Meringue Pie so she offered to send a sample of her new Lemon Pound Cake to try out. This scent was yummy, to me it smelled more like a lemon biscotti scent so it was awesome. Scent strength was about medium at most though I could get a whiff of this all day long. I would say awesome for a normal sized room but my huge open living room was probably too large for this scent.

-Tiffany Candles Hocus Pocus (all 3 tarts, 24W hot plate). Tiffany Candles has been such a disappointment as of lately. I used all 3 tarts and got a light throw only, I could barely smell anything. What a shame as the scent is awesome!!

-Three Sisters Soap Got Milk? in the bedroom (24W hot plate warmer). One of my favorite bedroom scents and I just have 1 or 2 of these left =( Anyway, a wonderful creamy baby bath kind of scent with good throw and great lasting power! I think I reviewed this a few times already!

-Front Porch Vanilla Laundry in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was amazing! A sweet vanilla mixed with a fresh laundry detergent scent and it scented up my whole first floor with intense long-lasting fragrance! Went strong until I poured it out... I think it could have stayed another day or so!

-Scentsationals Vanilla Pomegranate Tea (2 cubes) in the kitchen (tealight). I loved this gorgeous sweet fruity scent as it was refreshing yet sweet and it was strong and lasted until the tealight extinguished itself!

-CFTKR Country Sweet Rolls in the living room (24W hot plate). A delectable sweet caramel bakery scent without any spice at all. Unfortunately this was a bit light so I replaced it after about half the day.

-Kristin´s Kandles Sugar Corn Pudding (2 tarts) in the living room (24W hot plate). I really love this truly amazing scent, it´s so yummy! Unfortunately even with 2 tarts I could barely smell something. I think that the fragrance is soft by default so it would be better in a smaller room I suppose.

-I replaced the CFTKR and Kristin´s scents with the last 4 cubes (2 in each warmer) of my Scentsationals Care Package scent. It´s just the most amazing bakery scent for me right now and it was strong and delicious!

-Kristin´s Kandles Vanilla Velvet in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was an interesting scent. It smelled very light and creamy in the package but when it melted it was pretty strong. First I got a cinnamon vanilla note. A few hours later it was still strong but then I picked up a powdery vanilla scent. I really liked this and it was strong and long-lasting!

-Tiffany Candles Mango Papaya in the first floor (24W hot plate). I didn´t really get a lot of scent from this tart so I can´t say much about it!

-VDC Peach Sugared ZB (Zucchini Bread) in the kitchen (tealight). I got a light peachy bakery scent from this but it was really just faint and I could just catch a whiff of this here and there when I was standing close to the warmer.

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard pink Sugar Marshmallows (3 tarts!!) in my living room (24W hot plate). Despite using an estimated 3-4 oz of wax I got absolutely nothing from these tarts. I am done with YOCC and will just use up a few scents that threw a little but I would not order again!

-LSC Pink Sugar Cookie in the living room (24W hot plate). By LSC standards this really performed badly. I got only a very soft scent out of this but after all I could smell something and that was yummy!

-Kristin´s Kandles Pink Sugar Fresh Linen (about a handfull) in my bedroom (24W hot plate).  This was an amazing scent. A nice blend of a gentle fresh laundry scent combined with sweet pink sugar. I really loved this scent and will be happily melting this again, soon!

-FussAssMcGee Maid´s Day off (2 cubes) in the first floor (24W hot plate). This smells like Febréze laundry spray. So I would say it´s a clean floral scent? Scent throw was about medium which was great as a really intense dose of this would have stirred up a headache to be sure!

-Beaux Savon Frais Honey Bunny in my kitchen (tealight). I didn´t care for this scent at all, it smells a bit chocolatey and somehow off. The scent throw was ok but I just didn´t like it.

-La Dolce Vita 7-up Pound Cake (2 cubes) in the living room (24W hot plate). I didn´t care for this scent either. I love lemon bakery scents but for some reason the 7-up pound cake smell is one I just dislike. The throw was alright but alas, not for me.

-Jamie Lauren Cupcakery & Confections in Wax in Banana Nut Bread in the living room (24W hot plate). This was a nice banana scent with a slight bakery note. Lasting power was good though the scent mellowed down quite a bit after the first 3-4 hours.

-Kristin´s Kandles Baby´s Bath in my bedroom (24W hot plate). As always this was awesome, a sweet and gentle baby bath scent. Love it!

-The Bathing Garden Tinsel (2 cubes) in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was a strong fruity/peppermint scent and lasted all day long. However I got somehow sick of this scent so I destashed the last 2 cubes and not planning on using this again.

-Scentsationals Plum Cranberry Cider (1 cube) in my kitchen (tealight). This gave of a super strong scent throw for the first hour but then there was hardly a scent left. I figured that most Scentsationals scents need 2 cubes even though the scent might knock you down for the first hour that way lol. This was a sweet cider scent without too much spice (as I am really sensitive to spicey scents).

-CFTKR English Breakfast Zucchini (2 slices) in my living room (24W hot plate). This is an awesome orange zucchini brad blend. Really love this! Smelled pretty strong and lasted most of the day.

-VDC Chocolate Mint Cookie in my living room (24W hot plate). This was alright, a light chocolate mint scent. Nothing that overly impressed me though.

Facebook Destash Haul

I recently purchased a destash from a Facebook buddy in one of my wax groups =) It was not a pre-selected destash box but rather I got to choose the products I wanted. I am not usually doing a lot of destash packages anymore as most of the time I got disappointing products that were old, or not correctly labeled (I hate that!) or repackaged (hate that, too! I am totally OCD when it comes to original packaging) but I purchased from this girl before and her stuff has been in great condition.

So here is what I got:

Daily wax melts October 17th 2012

-CFTKR Sugar Milk in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was a friggin awesome scent! I actually already put this in my hot plate on 16th in the afternoon and had it going through half the night, then switched it on again in the morning and it was still going strong till the afternoon. So I think I got at least 18hrs of scent out of this tart! An amazing bedroom scent, smells like sweet frothy milk and the throw was amazing despite this being a gentle and soft scent. I really enjoyed this scent so much and will order a big bag once there is one in stock. I also recommended to Carol to introduce this blended with lavender so will see if she will eventually make one!

-Kristin´s Kandles Country Clothesline in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was a lightweight laundry scent. I really enjoyed this as it was not as intense as most laundry scents. Still it made everything smell fresh and clean so this was pretty awesome. I had it going all day long and it didn´t fade.

-Shayz Scentz Almond Cake Cookies (2 tarts!) in my kitchen (tealight warmer). I got no scent out of these tarts whatsoever. Cold these smell really good but as I said, zilch throw. =(

-Victoria´s Designer Creations Pink Zucchini Bread in my living room (24W hot plate). I am going to post about my VDC haul soon. It was far more than unpleasant. Anyway, this tart looked pretty but there was pretty much no throw at all so it was an utter disappointment

-Lasting Scent Candles Peach Vanilla Cupcake in my living room (24W hot plate). This however was awesome and had a medium-strong throw all day long. It was such a lovely sweet vanilla peach scent until I poured it out at night. I didn´t really get a bakery note but it was gorgeous nonetheless. 

Kristin´s Kandles haul

I placed another small order for some goodies from Kristin´s Kandles recently as she has my 2 favorite bedroom scents: Baby´s Bath and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. I decided to get a 16oz bag of each of my fave scents but also try out a few others in 2-packs.
As always she was super fast shipping my order (2-3 days?) and everything arrived in perfect condition. I really love her packaging, too!

Yesterday´s scents were:

-Pics, Petals & Scents Toasted Marshmallow Vanilla Bean Noel in my bedroom in a 24W hot plate warmer. This wasn´t a strong scent but I could smell it and it was really pretty and sweet, perfect for the bedroom. IMO Pics, Petals & Scents do best in the 24W hot plate after curing for at least 2 weeks!

-Scentsationals Bonsai Tree (2 cubes) in the first floor in the 20W hot plate warmer. Initially I really loved this as it´s a very green fresh scent however over time it triggered a headache. This was definitely strong and lasted all day long (it still smelled pretty strong when I poured it out at night.

-Ariel´s Secret Garden Twigs & Berries in the kitchen in a tealight warmer. For being just an 1 oz scent shot this was pretty strong and stayed all day (2 tealights long!). I have the same scent from CFTKR and FP and they are also strong so I suppose the fragrance oil is strong. It´s an interesting woodsy berry scent.

-Kristin´s Kandles Lemon Meringue Pie in my 20W hot plate in the living room. This didn´t really have much of a throw which was quite a disappointment. This is one of the first duds from Kristin´s I encounter though so not  a big problem for me.

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Pink Kaleidoscope in my 24W hot plate in the living room. I love this scent so much, it´s uber-awesome lol. It´s a medley of all kinda sweet things with a more dominant creamy key lime pie note. It had a medium scent throw and good lasting power. I generally wish that YOCC´s scents were a bit stronger though!

I forgot to post about the scent I had going in my bedroom all the past week. I purchased a wood wick candle from Tiffany Candles in Sinus Relief mixed with Rosemary Mint (and per my request tinted in baby pink). I lightened it every evening and it is just such an awesome candle! The wood wick crackles so loud it´s really relaxing and the scent throw is great, too! I will post about my Tiffany´s haul later but will add couple of pics here for you to see:

The other scents going around my house were:

-La Dolce Vita Cotton Blossom (2 cubes) in the first floor in the 20W hot plate there. A pretty fresh sweet scent, it´s a B&BW type. I really loved the scent! Scent throw was ok, though I would have liked it a bit stronger.

-Pics, Petals & Scents Monkey Bread (1 of the little bundt cakes) in the kitchen in a tealight warmer (I wish I had a convenient power socket in the kitchen so I could put a hot plate there!). This was totally not what I expected. I expected a banana nut bread kinda scent but this was just a wicked strong cinnamon scent. I poured this out after couple of hours as I couldn´t stand it!

-Kristin´s Kandles Fruit Loops in the 20W hot plate warmer in the living room. This was awesome! A strong lemon bakery scent I totally enjoyed! Stayed all day, too!

-Front Porch Pink Sugar Cookie Dough Bread in my 24W hot plate in the living room. This did nothing for me. I didn´t really get much of a scent throw from this scent. By Front Porch standards an utter disappointment.

Kristin´s Kandles haul

Kristin´s Kandles is one of my favorite tart vendors right now, she has couple of scents that I didn´t find anywhere else that I just love!

I recently took advantage of a sale where you could get 2 free votives and a free 2-pack (I am not sure anymore if I got free shipping, too).
I ordered 6-packs of my favorite scents Baby´s Bath, Oatmeal, Milk & Honey and of 2 other scents (Fruit Loops and Mandarin Spritz). I also got 2-packs in Ozark Mountain Honey, Maple Pecan Cheesecake, Vanilla Velvet and Cheesecake (my freebie), I told her to just send over 2 fresh or spa type votives so I got Misty Moon and Country Clothesline.
I just placed another order for 16oz. tart brittle in Baby´s Bath and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, These 2 scents are just so amazing! I think these are the same scent oils that Three Sisters Soap are using (Baby´s Bath = Got Milk? and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey is the same scent).

Kristin´s tarts are quite big and I always melt a whole piece. In my opinion they need about 2-3 weeks curing time then the tarts throw really nicely, especially in a hot plate warmer!

And yet another wax melt day passed =) I delighted myself with the following scents:

-Kristin´s Kandles Eucalyptus in the first floor on my 20W hot plate. I am not fond of this scent as it´s not herbal but rather perfumey. Throw and lasting power was good though.

-Front Porch Lemon Cotton Candy in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. I think FP tarts just need a hot plate as the throw was just mediocre. The scent was really yummy though - a really sweet lemon candy mix. Lasting power was good, too!

-Pics, Petals and Scents Frosted Lemon Birthday Cake on my 24W hot plate. I scooped about an oz of wax out of my loaf and it was absolutely AMAZING! A super strong long-lasting lemon bakery scent. I am so thrilled with this and I am so happy I have a whole loaf of this stuff!

-Scentsy Happy Birthday (1 cube) in my 25W lightbulb melter. This had a very light but pleasant kind of scent. Staying power was ok but next time I´ll use 2 cubes. The Pics, Petals & Scents tart overpowered this anyway =)

-Three Sisters Soap Got Milk? in my 25W lightbulb warmer in my bedroom. My fave bedroom scent. Such a sweet but clean baby scent. A bit like a baby bath or shampoo. I believe that Kristin´s Kandles Baby's Bath is actually the same scent as they smell so much alike. Scent throw was great and longevity was awesome for such a small 1oz cup. I got 2 days out of this scent shot!

-Kristin´s Kandles Ozark Honey in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. Kristin´s Kandles really perform amazingly for me. In a hot plate they are pretty strong and they last long. I recommend giving them a curing time of 2-3 weeks as then they start to bloom to their full potential! Ozark Honey was a soft floral mixed with honey. It was really filling my first floor and even wafted down into my living area!

-Three Sisters Soap Lavender Apples & Oak in my kitchen in the tealight warmer. A very nice strong fresh scent bordering toilet cleanser. I actually wanted to pop it in the warmer in my 1st floor and the ozark honey in the kitchen but I was scatterbrained as always lol. Scent throw and lasting power were good though!

-CFTKR Pumpkin Marshmallow Sugar Cookies in my 24W hot plate in the living room. This was a strong scent but I really disliked it, it made me slightly sick. Wouldn´t melt this again but as a general thing CFTKR tarts are super awesome! It´s just subjective that this scent is not for me. I replaced it with something else but I can´t remember what it was!

-Shayz Scenty Pink Sugared Cookie in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. Shayz don´t perform well in lightbulb warmers. I just got a light pink sugar scent and it didn´t last very long. I will always use 2 Shayz tarts and only on hot plates or in tealight warmers.

Kristin's Kandles wood wick candles haul

With autumn starting to make its appearance I decided to pick up a few candles with wooden wicks as they produce a nice crackling sound just like a small fireplace.
I picked up two from Kristin's Kandles and 3 from Tiffany (to be posted about soon). i lit the Apples 'n Oak already and I am getting a nice even pool of wax and a beautiful crackling sound however the scent throw is very light. I have to admit that the sound of the candle is more important than the scent in this case!
Each cost me $10 and shipping was super quick!

A cold rainy day! Much to my liking but my 7 rabbits in the garden weren't happy lol

-Kristin's Kandles Lavender Mist (not pictured) in the 1st floor in my 20W hot plate. Kristin's tarts are amazing when you let them cure for 2-3 weeks prior to melting. This was like any lavender air freshener kinda scent, not overly herbal, rather artificial and fresh. I liked it though and it was pleasant and long-lasting.

-CFTKR Cranberry Jelly in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. This was very weak but I'd blame this either on the. warmer (CFTKR is best in a 24W hot plate) or that I got it in a destash so it could be older. The scent is great, a fresh berry scent great for fall.

-Shayz Scentz Amish Zucchini Bread in my 24W warmer in the living room. I used 2 tarts as they're rather small for such a big room. A very nice almond-cinnamon-creamy zucchini scent. Smelled awesome, lasted well and had a nice medium throw.

A clear cool autumn day! Wanted some sweet melts... And color-wise I clearly see a pattern lol

-Kristin's Kandles Peppermint Cheesecake in a 20W hot plate in the 1st floor. This is such a yummy scent and compared to the 1st time I melted it it's quite strong this time. I think it just needed some curing time! A creamy sweet peppermint but developed a coconut note over time.

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Pink Sugar Marshmallows in a tealight warmer in my kitchen. A wonderful mellow sweet pink sugar marshmallow scent. Good throw but only medium staying power (6 hrs at most).

-Front Porch Ultimate Bakery on my 24W hot plate in the living room. A good bakery scent albeit with slightly too much spice in it. I don't quite get the hype around this scent... though it is good and has a long-lasting strong throw.

Kristin's Kandles haul

This is a haul I received couple of weeks ago from Kristin's Kandles. She has really good products, her Sugar Corn Pudding and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey tarts are totally awesome!
Shipping is very fast, usually within couple of days or so.
She is selling 2-packs, 6-packs and 12-packs. The more tarts the better the price. I think she also does customized sampler packs.
I love her cute labels! Such details matter to me a lot actually. Ugly packaging and labels (or no labelling at all) can totally prevent me from ordering from that vendor.

The bunny-shaped card is a car/closet freshener. I also got a candle from her.

Daily wax melts August 31st 2012

Fall is slowly starting here and it turned significantly cooler the past days (and nights). Still it'stransitional weather with some warmer afternoons but cooler evenings/nights.

-Kristin's Kandles Oatmeal, Milk & Honey in the 1st floor in a 20W hot plate warmer. This was absolutely amazing, the best om&h scent. The tart smelled like the soap from Three Sisters Soap! Guess they might use the same oil! Albeit the scent was not super strong it was clearly detectable as my whole first floor smelled sweet and just lovely!

-The Bathing Garden Nantucket Briar Bake Shop (2 cubes) in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. A very interesting scent (perhaps a mix of Crabtree & Evelyn's nantucket briar and a bakery scent? Cold you smell mainly a standard bakery scent but hot the other notes (light florals and citrus etc) come through. Didn't have a very strong throw but was pleasant all in all.

-Three Sisters Soap Lime & Cherry in a 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. This was the biggest surprise to me. This was super strong, yummy and long-lasting. I usually have a problem with cherry scents leaning towards cough-medicine but this was great scent!
