Three Sisters Soap haul

I purchased a good bunch of soaps on Artfire from the Three Sisters Soap shop. Debby makes my favorite soaps, they are creamy and don´t dry out my skin at all! She had bath bomb listed as well so I got a bunch of those, too. As always she was super generous with her extras (last pic).

Daily wax melts January 9th 2013

-La Dolce Vita Jack Frost (3 cubes) in the bedroom (24W hot plate). This is the usual sweet peppermint scent you can get from many vendors. This was pretty light and insignificant though.

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents Raspberry Lemonade (2 cubes) in the 2nd floor (tealight). This wasn´t quite as strong as I had expected but it still was a good raspberry lemonade scent with good throw and lasting power.

-Country Home Scent Pink Raspberry Lemonade in the first floor (25W lightbulb). And yet another dud from CHS. No throw on this. I think I am just going to toss the rest I have as I just have no luck with these!

-The Bathing Garden Pumpkin Walnut Biscotti in the kitchen (2 cubes, tealight). While this wasn´t a strong scent I got a light whiff of pumpkin pie spice all the time and I really disliked this. I don´t think I will melt this scent again, I am just not a pumpkin lover at all.

-Three Sisters Soap Serendipity in the living room (24W hot plate). This had a light throw and was just a regular serendipity scent. I honestly love Serendipity but only when it´s blended with other things.

-Front Porch Lemon Bread in the living room (24W hot plate). A light sweet lemon bakery scent with light throw and decent lasting power. Will let this cure a bit to see if it performs better next time.

-Three Sisters Soap Got Milk? in the bedroom (24W hot plate warmer). One of my favorite bedroom scents and I just have 1 or 2 of these left =( Anyway, a wonderful creamy baby bath kind of scent with good throw and great lasting power! I think I reviewed this a few times already!

-Front Porch Vanilla Laundry in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was amazing! A sweet vanilla mixed with a fresh laundry detergent scent and it scented up my whole first floor with intense long-lasting fragrance! Went strong until I poured it out... I think it could have stayed another day or so!

-Scentsationals Vanilla Pomegranate Tea (2 cubes) in the kitchen (tealight). I loved this gorgeous sweet fruity scent as it was refreshing yet sweet and it was strong and lasted until the tealight extinguished itself!

-CFTKR Country Sweet Rolls in the living room (24W hot plate). A delectable sweet caramel bakery scent without any spice at all. Unfortunately this was a bit light so I replaced it after about half the day.

-Kristin´s Kandles Sugar Corn Pudding (2 tarts) in the living room (24W hot plate). I really love this truly amazing scent, it´s so yummy! Unfortunately even with 2 tarts I could barely smell something. I think that the fragrance is soft by default so it would be better in a smaller room I suppose.

-I replaced the CFTKR and Kristin´s scents with the last 4 cubes (2 in each warmer) of my Scentsationals Care Package scent. It´s just the most amazing bakery scent for me right now and it was strong and delicious!

Daily wax melts October 18th 2012

-Scentsationals Vanilla Lavender in my bedroom (1 cube, 24W hot plate). This was a very sweet scent, the lavender was quite light whereas the vanilla really came out. It was super strong so 1 cube was easily enough to scent my whole big bedroom. I liked it but a touch more lavender would have be great to tone down the vanilla a bit.

-Ariel´s Secret Garden Avon by the Sea in my first floor (around 6 or 7 of those little tarts). This smelled pretty perfumey cold so I was not sure how much I´d like these tarts. When I melted them I got no scent out of them at all though so my worries were for nothing anyway lol. Would not melt or purchase again.

-Three Sisters Soap Clementine Cupcakes in my kitchen (tealight warmer). This smelled so good cold I held onto my little cup for quite a while now. When I melted it I got no scent out of this at all though which was a disappointment. This scent shot was a skin safe product so I could have used it for my body but didn´t feel like I wanted to. A real pity =(

-FussAssMcGee Pink Sugar Fluff (the whole huge tart!) in my living room (24W hot plate). This smelled so awesome cold however it gave very little scent when melting especially considering this is like 3+ ounces (with stronger tarts I could get like 3-4 melts out of that!). What I smelled was pleasant though so I will melt the other one I have anytime soon to get rid of these. The newer tarts from FussAssMcGee seem a bit stronger and I am really enjoying them so far!

-Pics, Petals & Scents Iced Lemon Zucchini Bread in my living room (24W hot plate). This was a gorgeous lemon bakery scent. Now I could not detect the zucchini bread so it smelled more like an iced lemon cookie or cake but it was a great scent with a good throw and lasting power all day long. Really loved this one!

I had 2 amazing apple blends going on today! Me! Who normally doesn´t like apple scents =)

-Front Porch Warm Vanilla & Sweet Sugar in the first floor (24W hot plate). This smells exactly like the B&BW body care (Warm Vanilla Sugar). A very nice comforting scent and it had great throw and lasted pretty much through most of the day.

-Three Sisters Soap Coconut Cream & Pralines & Cream in my kitchen (tealight). This was yummy and had a nice medium throw however the coconut came out too much and I am not a big fan of coconut. Still it was a good scent but fizzled out quickly (after like 2-3 hours).

-Tiffany Candles Hocus Pocus in my living room (24W hot plate). AMAZING! A blend of toffee candy apple and candy corn. A really wonderful scent! Loved it and it was strong all day long until I switched off the warmer. 

-Beaux Savon Frais Toffe Apple Crunch in my living room (2nd 24W hot plate at the opposite site of the room). This was totally awesome, too! It complemented the Tiffany scent really well and was also a super strong tart lasting all day long. So far I loved what I melted from BSF (*knocks on wood*)...hope it will continue that way! =D

In my bedroom I had 2 cubes of The Bathing Garden Dream Within a Dream and it was wonderful! A vanilla-lavender kinda scent. Was strong and lasted at least 12 hours long.

And yet another Three Sisters Soap haul! I am using Debby´s soaps daily and just love them so much! The soaps produce the most awesome creamy lather ever, are absolutely not drying on my skin (on the contrary, they fell very moisturizing) and they are very fragrant, much more than any other handmade soaps I ever used. To me that´s pretty important as most handmade soaps have a fishy smell so they must be scented well to mask that and please me lol.

Anyway, as if I didn´t have a stash to last me the next 10000 years incl. generous amounts I can give away as gifts I placed couple more orders, this being the first of them lol. Will show you the 2nd one in another post soon. 
I especially *needed* those cute cupcake soaps! =D
Besides making awesome soaps Three Sisters Soap also has many other cool things up for grabs like linen sprays, tarts, simmering potpourris etc. You name it! Debby is going to restock her shop soon, she just has issues with her computer but she said she has a lot of new stuff she needs to list!

Here is my haul. I was totally thrilled to find a bunch of soap samples and a Got Milk? linen spray as my extras. The spray is awesome, smells very strong and just makes me feel all warm and cozy when I smell it when I go to bed. 
As always I love everything!

Daily wax melts October 5th 2012

Oct 4th was one of the rare days I didn´t melt anything. Or I think I actually threw in a few samples from TBG or so later in the afternoon but I don´t know what scents they were as the samples are over pours and don´t come labeled. 

So on 5th I melted:

-CFTKR Pink Sugar Vanilla Bean Noel in my 20W hot plate warmer in the 1st floor. In my opinion CFTKR tarts don´t do well in any kind of warmer except for the 24W plates where they really throw super strongly and last quite a few hours. in the 20W plate I got a light-medium scent throw and it was such an amazing scent. I could detect both the Vanilla Bean Noel and the Pink Sugar. Next time I´ll use my 24W plate though!

-Three Sisters Soap Raspberry & Lemon Verbena in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. This was a super strong tart with a really good throw. A nice fruity fresh scent.

-Pics, Petals & Scents Mulberry Zucchini Bread (2 bars) in my 20W hot plate in the living room. This was an awesome scent! The zucchini bread didn´t really come out a lot but the mulberry was pretty strong and it was a really unique fruity scent. It lasted all day long and had a good medium-strong throw.

-La Dolce Vita Vanilla Bean Nectarine (2 cubes) in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. This was my favorite of that day, such a unique and wonderful scent! The VB scent was quite strong in this one (as it´s normally pretty subtle) and the sweet citrus note of the nectarine just matched perfectly. I am going to order multiples of this to have some stock at home!

I started my melters pretty late and wasn´t really content with my choices except for one tart:

-Aunt Nena´s Green Apple Explosion in the 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. I am not having the best luck with Aunt Nena´s. A few tarts were good but the majority has no throw. Just like this one! I got no scent out of this!

-Sugar & Spice Gourmet Blueberry Cobbler in the kitchen in a tealight warmer. I didn´t care for this slightly fruity scent, it was a bit sweet and just blah. Throw was ok though I think S&SG should be melted in a hot plate!

-Three Sisters Soap Autumn Afternoon in my 24W hot plate in the living room. Now this was the one tart I really loved (I knew I love it though as it wasn´t the first time melting one of these). It´s a really good fall scent, slightly crisp and not spicy. I really love the scent and the embedded dried fruits and leaves look pretty in the molten wax!

-Lasting Scent Candles Pink Marshmallow Shortbread in my Whoot warmer in the living room. This had zero throw though I want to blame it on the warmer which just doesn´t seem to work well with anything except for scentsy (and even those I prefer them in one of my handmade bunny bulb warmers!). The scent is gorgeous! A gooey smooth marshmallow bakery scent!

-Three Sisters Soap Got Milk? in my 25W lightbulb warmer in my bedroom. My fave bedroom scent. Such a sweet but clean baby scent. A bit like a baby bath or shampoo. I believe that Kristin´s Kandles Baby's Bath is actually the same scent as they smell so much alike. Scent throw was great and longevity was awesome for such a small 1oz cup. I got 2 days out of this scent shot!

-Kristin´s Kandles Ozark Honey in my 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. Kristin´s Kandles really perform amazingly for me. In a hot plate they are pretty strong and they last long. I recommend giving them a curing time of 2-3 weeks as then they start to bloom to their full potential! Ozark Honey was a soft floral mixed with honey. It was really filling my first floor and even wafted down into my living area!

-Three Sisters Soap Lavender Apples & Oak in my kitchen in the tealight warmer. A very nice strong fresh scent bordering toilet cleanser. I actually wanted to pop it in the warmer in my 1st floor and the ozark honey in the kitchen but I was scatterbrained as always lol. Scent throw and lasting power were good though!

-CFTKR Pumpkin Marshmallow Sugar Cookies in my 24W hot plate in the living room. This was a strong scent but I really disliked it, it made me slightly sick. Wouldn´t melt this again but as a general thing CFTKR tarts are super awesome! It´s just subjective that this scent is not for me. I replaced it with something else but I can´t remember what it was!

-Shayz Scenty Pink Sugared Cookie in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. Shayz don´t perform well in lightbulb warmers. I just got a light pink sugar scent and it didn´t last very long. I will always use 2 Shayz tarts and only on hot plates or in tealight warmers.

Couple of Three Sisters Soap Company hauls

As I mentioned in an earlier post I think that Three Sisters Soap is offering thee best soaps out there. I just experience that they lather wonderfully, smell strong (unlike most other handmade soaps I tried) and are not drying my skin at all (my major complaint with most bar soaps).

Recently she had several lots up for grabs containing test soaps she made and fall soap bundles so I had to grab couple of lots. As always she stuffed the envelopes with soap samples and full-sized items to the brim! Debbie is always so generous with freebies!

Lot 1 was a lot of autumn soaps. These chunks are so huge and came packaged so nicely! I think I paid around $15 or so and I believe there is one more lot like this on her site up for grabs!

Lot 2 came yesterday and consisted actually of 4 soaps and 5 tarts. As you see there is so much more in the lot! These soaps are huge and look so pretty! Love the little bones on top of the hillbilly soap =D

 

 

Daily wax melts August 31st 2012

Fall is slowly starting here and it turned significantly cooler the past days (and nights). Still it'stransitional weather with some warmer afternoons but cooler evenings/nights.

-Kristin's Kandles Oatmeal, Milk & Honey in the 1st floor in a 20W hot plate warmer. This was absolutely amazing, the best om&h scent. The tart smelled like the soap from Three Sisters Soap! Guess they might use the same oil! Albeit the scent was not super strong it was clearly detectable as my whole first floor smelled sweet and just lovely!

-The Bathing Garden Nantucket Briar Bake Shop (2 cubes) in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. A very interesting scent (perhaps a mix of Crabtree & Evelyn's nantucket briar and a bakery scent? Cold you smell mainly a standard bakery scent but hot the other notes (light florals and citrus etc) come through. Didn't have a very strong throw but was pleasant all in all.

-Three Sisters Soap Lime & Cherry in a 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. This was the biggest surprise to me. This was super strong, yummy and long-lasting. I usually have a problem with cherry scents leaning towards cough-medicine but this was great scent!

Daily wax melts August 20th 2012

What a hot day today! It had like 38 degree Celsius outside so cooling refreshing scents were needed.

-Kristin's Kandles Eucalyptus in the 1st floor in a Yankee tealight warmer. The throw of this tart was a bit weak and it wasn't an authentic cool eucalyptus but rather a perfumey one.

-Three Sisters Soap Lemon Verbena & Lavender in a Yankee tealight warmer in my kitchen. Smelled really great on cold sniff but was very faint when melted.

-Lasting Scents Citrus Mint in a 17W hot plate warmer in my living room. . LSC rarely dissappoints but this was a bit weaker than I had expected. Still it smelled good!

I had several nice waxies in my bedroom going on in the previous nights among them Country Home Scents Snuggle Baby (good and strong) and Lasting Scent Candles Lemon Lavender.

Couple of recent Three Sisters Soap (on Artfire) hauls

Three Sisters Soap on Artfire is my favorite place to pick up awesome and beautiful handmade soaps and tarts. Their prices are really affordable and every order comes with tons of free full-sized and sample-sized goodies.
In the first pic below the freebies and actual purchases are mixed but in the 2nd pic you can see how generous this vendor is as I only bought the 7 items in the back, all the other stuff in the front were free!

My fave soap from them is the oatmeal, milk & honey one as it smells so sweet and good!
