I placed another order with Frostings as I was so impressed with her Serendipity scent I received in my first order. I got a dozen of her Serendipity tarts.
What annoyed me a bit was the TAT. It was pretty much at the 3 weeks mark once she shipped it and I was not kept informed however her listed TAT was 2-3 weeks so I guess it´s ok.
Also the tarts this time smell a bit different, a bit weaker and with a slight strange under-note. I hate when that happens. I try to stock up on a scent I love and then it´s just not the same. Anyway, a bit of curing time might take care of that =) The last Serendipity I melted from her cured for at least 6-7 weeks.
The tarts are really pretty and quite a bit bigger than the last batch. A few were a bit smashed but the wax is very soft and almost sticky =) And packaging is so pretty! I also got a free sample!
-Front Porch Winter in the Woods in the bedroom and one in the first floor (each 24W hot plate). I just love this scent! It´s a fresh peppermint scent with a subtle woodsy note. It was really strong and long-lasting!
-Frostings Wax Melts Orange Clouds in the kitchen (tealight). I got nothing from this whatsoever.
-Frostings Wax Melts Serendipity in the living room (24W hot plate). I ordered a 12-pack of Serendipity as the first one I got a while ago was so awesome. However this one smelled a bit different and was way lighter =( What a bummer! I hope some cure time will take care of that but I am not sure. We´ll see...
-Front Porch Amish Friendship Bread (all 4 little heart tarts) in the living room (24W hot plate). FP´s AFB is an awesome strong and lasting scent, it´s different from other types (usually there is a cherry or cinnamon note) as this was really creamy and yummy. More like a sweet bread scent. Amazing!
-The Bathing Garden Frosted Marshmallow (2 cubes) in the bedroom (24W hot plate). I had this scent for such a long time I finally decided to melt it. I was hesitant because it is so very light on cold sniff however when I melted it I was deeply impressed! This is a sweet soft fluffy sugared marshmallow scent and it was awesome and made me sleep so well lol! (took a nap in the morning). Stayed strong till the night! Love it!!
-Granny´s Kountry Candles Hawaiian Ginger in the 2nd floor (tealight). A fresh sweet and slightly floral scent that was really good and strong. I enjoyed this a lot!
-Kristin´s Kandles Pink Sugar Fresh Linen in the 1st floor (a big hand full, 25W lightbulb). The blend of a soft laundry scent and really sweet pink sugar is really good but the strength isn´t great. This is a pretty old bag of chunks though as I can tell from the label and the fact that I got it from a destash package.
-Jaimie Lauren Cupcakery & Confections in Wax in Turtle Brownie in the kitchen (tealight). I am not usually a fan of chocolate scents but this was really good. It was sweet, gooey, super strong and lasted all day long. Awesome!
-Frostings Candy Cane Creamies in the living room (24W hot plate). This smelled sweet, I even felt I got a slight serendipity note from this? It wasn´t so strong and there was no mint that I could detect in the scent so it´s not something I would order again.
-Lasting Scent Candles Pink Cherry Crunch in the living room (24W hot plate). this was a really weak scent I got barely any throw from this. I think I replaced the 2 living room melts by midday.
-Front Porch Peppermint Noel in the bedroom (24W hot plate). On cold sniff I only got the super strong typical FP peppermint but when I melted it the sweet Vanilla Bean Noel scent came through. Was really strong and lasted until the night! Would definitely get some 4-packs of this!
-La Dolce Vita Christmas Wish (2 cubes) in the 2nd floor (tealight warmer). Even though this didn´t really have a scent I somehow liked this as it just gave a sweetness to the air. Sounds weird but yea... I thought it was nice. Would not consider a repurchase though!
-Scentsationals Yin Yang (2 cubes) in the first floor (25W lightbulb warmer). A very strong eucalyptus spearmint scent that wandered throughout the whole house. Amazing!
-Granny´s Kountry Candles Ginger Brown Sugared Shortbread in the kitchen (tealight). I didn´t smell anything at all. I think this was from the old wax as the new ones (the majority of what I have) smell pretty strong!
-CFTKR Comfy Home in the living room (24W hot plate). This smelled so yummy cold but when I melted it I didn´t care for it at all. It was a caramel scent but it had a whacky note to it.
-Frostings Wax Melts Serendipity in the living room (24W hot plate). Now this was really amazing! One of the best serendipity scents ever! It was strong, sweet, decadent and long-lasting. I just ordered a dozen of these! AWESOME!!
After hearing some raves for Frosting Wax Melts on Etsy on several Youtube channels (and I blame you, Erin for my craving lol and LOVE YA!) I definitely had to check out this vendor by myself, especially since her stuff looks so cute! Her given TAT was 2-3 weeks and it took her indeed 2 1/2 weeks to get my order out (order date Oct 21st, shipped Nov 7th). I am usually not very patient waiting for my tarts (I waited 3 months for VDC and it was NOT worth it lol) but I make exceptions for really awesome vendors like Sniff My Tarts, Haley´s, The Bathing Garden (she´s usually fast but I had one order taking about 4 weeks to be shipped), LSC etc. but generally a TAT over 1 month is really tough for me and on the border of being acceptable for me. I consider 2 weeks already a long TAT to be honest...anything below a week is fast =P
Anyway, enough blabber about TATs. Her stuff took about 3 weeks to reach me. I ordered a baker´s dozen of her tiny cupcake tarts (though I wasn´t aware HOW tiny these were). For $16 plus shipping I received a super cute box filled with wax tarts that are works of art! She packed the tarts well and with so much attention to details however they still shifted around and got a little squashed.
I told the owner Giselle to pick scents for me, I just advised her of what I like and dislike (say super spicy etc.). And she picked a really nice variety for me.
I melted one so far and the throw was fine, not outrageously strong though! I find it so hard to dig into that super pretty lot though!!
I would say it was nice to try this new vendor but I am not sure if I am interested in ordering again. I love my "workhorse" tarts from e.g. CFTKR etc. and while I admittedly fall for all of those embellished frilly tarts I am not sure if the price is worth it for Frostings. Will melt more of these to decide.
Anyway, here is the eye candy (since I can´t offer you smell candy via the net lol):
-Granny´s Kountry Candles Big Girl Panties (2 cubes) in the bedroom (24W hot plate). This was an awesome scent! A strong fresh scent, not quite like laundry detergent, it reminded me of the original eau de cologne ("4711" as called here). A fresh citrus cologne scent! Staying power was amazing, it lasted all day long and my bedroom smelled oh so good!
-Country Home Scent Ginger Orange Fizz in the first floor (24W hot plate). I smelled mainly the ginger so it was a wintery scent to me. Scent throw was good and lasting power, too!
-TBG Rich Vanilla Champagne (2 cubes) in the kitchen (tealight). This was unexpectedly great! I had this for quite a while (5-6 months!) and it was a beautiful vanilla champagne scent (so it had that tart sparkly note). Amazing throw and longevity!
-Frostings Wax Melts Baby Cakes in the living room (24W hot plate). I really liked this sweet cake scent. To me it had a slight baby powder note (maybe hence the name?). It was medium strong and lasting power was average.
-CFTKR Orange Cream Marshmallow Cookie (all 3 tarts) in the living room (24W hot plate). I really like this scent a lot but wish it was a bit stronger. All 3 tarts gave off a medium throw and I could smell them pretty much till the day was over.
