Small Tiffany Candles haul

I had really general bad luck with my previous tart purchases from Tiffany Candles as most (but not all) tarts had a very light to non-existent throw. That was just before she changed to her new paraffin wax blend though as she was not happy with her old wax either.
Anyways, I heard and watched praise reviews for her new scoopable whipped wax so I decided to pick up a few in my favorite scents from TC respectively with a new serendipity blend she came up with recently!

I am very happy with these jars of whipped wax, they´re really awesome, have a strong throw and go a pretty long way.
I definitely would recommend this product without any hesitation!

Scoopable Wax Comparison

Whipped or scoopable soft wax seems to be all the rage now across the wax groups/boards/forums. I am not quite sure if they are something desirable or if they are more messy and work than just popping in a solid piece of wax.
What I like about scoopables is the ease of blending new scents with them and generally how the amount can be controlled according to the size of the warmer/size of room.

I got scoopable wax from various vendors so it´s about time to review them and see who does it best.

Update: Part 2 is here!!

I´ll review them from back to front, clockwise starting on the very left

-Pics, Petals & Scents loaf in Frosted Lemon Birthday Cake. This is actually not labelled as being scoopable or whipped wax but it´s a very soft creamy wax and the owner started selling this wax in tubs as scoopable but I think the formula is about the same.

Texture: Firm yet creamy wax. Sticks to the spoon and a pain to clean up IMO
Scoopability: This scoops pretty well with a metal spoon but a plastic spoon is not optimal here. The deeper you go down to the bottom the softer the wax is
Container: This only comes in the tin foil container which is a pain
Messiness: Very messy, the sprinkles and wax crumbs go everywhere, the bag this comes in is smeared with wax
Throw: The throw on this patricular scent is awesome and this is one of my top favorite scents from any vendor.
Value for Money: This is more than 1 lbs and cost me about US$10 so it´s definitely the best bang for the buck!
Repurchase? Yes, but I am glad we can get this now in a polypropylene container (16 oz I believe)

Overall rating: 3.5/5

-Front Porch Scoopable in Caramel Marshmallow:

Texture: Very firm for being a scoop able. Doesn´t really stick to the spoon, yay!
Scoopability: This wax is more of a scrape-able. The wax is pretty hard and comes off in flakes rather than in a slob of a a creamy texture wax. A plastic spoon does the trick as well but if you use a metal spoon with a bit of force you can break off pretty big chunks of the wax. I personally do like the texture.
Container: This only comes in the super heavy glass jar. I would totally prefer a polypropylene container!
Messiness: This is only messy the first few uses but as soon as I am a bit further down in the jar it´s pretty un-messy!
Throw: The throw on these scoopables is awesome, I love creating new blends as well as I acquired quite a bunch of FP scoopables by now!
Value for Money: I think the jar retailed for US$17.50 until yesterday. Today they are US$15.50 as the vendor decided to change the formula to a softer wax (yay!) and sell of the remaining stock of the hard version. This is for 16 oz and includes shipping so IMO this is a very good price for such a quality product!
Repurchase? Yes, most definitely! And I am very excited to see what her new formula will feel like!

Overall rating: 4/5

-Tiffany Candles Whipped Wax in Birthday Bash:

Texture: This is a soft yet firm wax if that makes sense? What I love about this wax is that it has a totally un-crumbly texture!
Scoopability: This wax scoops out perfectly. I need to use a bit of pressure but the wax comes out easily.
Container: The polypropylene container is the best of all the jars IMO.
Messiness: This wax produces pretty much no mess at all.
Throw: The throw on the whipped wax is amazing and I don´t really need a lot to get a good throw. In fact the whipped wax from Tiffany is way better than her regular tarts as I get barely any throw from those but a great one with a bit of the whipped wax!
Value for Money: The jar retails for about US$10 for 8oz. That is a pretty high price-tag
Repurchase? Yes, most definitely!

Overall rating: 4.5/5
-Heavenleigh Apothecary Little Dipper (shown in Sugar Milk Serendipity and Pink Serendipity).
Texture: To me this has the most unique texture. It´s a very soft wax with an almost dry (as in not oily or creamy) feel to it.
Scoopability: This wax scoops out effortlessly but it does get stuck to the spoon.
Container: It´s a wide-mouthed plastic pot with a very firmly adhering cover. I like this container a lot.
Messiness: This wax produces a few crumbles making it slightly messy (though not bad at all).
Throw: The throw on the whipped wax is pretty good depending on the scent. Some scents like serendipity lemon curd or serendipity funnel cake are really strong whereas e.g. Pink Serendipity is on the light-medium end of the spectrum.
Value for Money: The jar retails for about US$6.50 for 8oz. That is quite a good price. This is also available in the bigger pail style container for US$20 (24oz, up to 3 individual scents can be layered).
Repurchase? Yes, most definitely!
Extra: Heavenleigh Apothecary allows you to create your own custom scent out of up to 3 scents from her list. This is an AMAZING feature, all the Little Dippers I have are custom blends made for me!

Overall rating: 4.5/5

-Happy Hippy Scents Scoopable Layers in Hippy in High Heels/Hippy Butter (a fresh kind of scent).
Texture: To me this has a strange oily texture but it is nice and medium firm.
Scoopability: This wax scoops out with ease
Container: It´s a wide-mouthed plastic pot with a very firmly adhering cover. I like this container a lot.
Messiness: This wax produces a few crumbles making it slightly messy (though not too bad). What is a real PITA is cleaning out this wax from the wax dishes if I don´t pour it while it´s hot. Once it´s hard it´s next to impossible to get it out without reheating the wax. I tried the freezer method and it was the first wax with which I had no success.
Throw: The throw on the whipped wax is too light for my liking on pretty much all of my 6 scents.
Value for Money: The jar retails for about US$8 for 9.5-10oz.
Repurchase? No, I don´t think so!
Extra: You can choose up to 3 layers of different scents to customize your whipped wax.

Overall rating: 2.5/5

Daily wax melts December 12th 2012

-CFTKR Holiday Sparkle in the bedroom (2 snowflakes, 24W hot plate). I got this from a destash package and I feel it´s on the older side. Anyway, 2 tarts scented up my bedroom nicely with a fresh pepperminty Xmas scent. This definitely had no spice whatsoever, so it was very suitable. Good strong scent and lasting power with this one!

-The Bathing Garden Tango in the first floor (24W hot plate, 2 cubes). This was one of the tarts I created for her contest and since I won I got my collection back in August. The notes are jasmine, mandarin, musk, and rose and I could mainly smell rose mixed with something fresher. I really liked this scent even though I am not a big floral person. Also this lasted all day long and was really strong.

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents Zucchini Bread in the kitchen (tealight). I used 2 cubes and this was just a standard creamy zucchini scent. Strength was about medium and lasting power was average (about 5-6 hours).

-Kristin´s Kandles Lemon Pound Cake in the living room (24W hot plate). Kristin read my blog and noticed I was not that happy with her Lemon Meringue Pie so she offered to send a sample of her new Lemon Pound Cake to try out. This scent was yummy, to me it smelled more like a lemon biscotti scent so it was awesome. Scent strength was about medium at most though I could get a whiff of this all day long. I would say awesome for a normal sized room but my huge open living room was probably too large for this scent.

-Tiffany Candles Hocus Pocus (all 3 tarts, 24W hot plate). Tiffany Candles has been such a disappointment as of lately. I used all 3 tarts and got a light throw only, I could barely smell anything. What a shame as the scent is awesome!!

Daily wax melts December 4th 2012

-Front Porch Honey Almond in the bedroom (24W hot plate). This was a really super sweet scent with a good medium-strong throw. I took a nap and woke up with a headache feeling slightly nauseous so I had to pour this out as this was the cause. I replaced it with Icy Peppermint from CFTKR (I think peppermint mixed with menthol) which helped in relieving the headache.

-TBG Mistletoe & Ivy in the first floor (24W hot plate). I used 2 cubes of this and it was a typical xmas-tree like scent. Very fresh and festive! The scent throw was good and lasting power ditto.

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Frothy Cappuccino in the kitchen (24W hot plate). This was so awesome in the cup, it smelled like a creamy milky caramel, I could not really detect and coffee in this. However hot it had no throw unfortunately...I could not smell anything!

-Tiffany Candles Winter Dreams (all 3 tarts!) in the living room (24W hot plate). This was an apple scent with nearly no throw at all despite using all 3 tarts!

-CFTKR Buttercream Maple Zucchini in the living room (3 slices, 24W hot plate). This made me sick, too. I think 3 slices was too much as the scent was good but it just made me nauseous. I got a very strong overwhelming throw..as for staying power I can´t say as I poured it out before the scent was gone.

Daily wax melts December 2nd 2012

-Tiffany Candles Oatmeal, Milk & Honey in the bedroom (4 gingerbread men, 24W hot plate). I really enjoyed this soft OMH scent, it was sweet and creamy. It reminded me very much of the one Kristin from Kristin´s Kandles is using but I like Kristin´s version better. I needed 4 gingerbread men to get the desired intensity (I started out with 2 and added 2 more) but then it was pretty strong and long-lasting.

-Lasting Scent Candles Green Tea Cucumber in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was super light, almost undetectable. I just could get a whiff of a light spa scent when I was sitting right beside the warmer (it´s on my desk - my first floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room and the huge open space is my "office". I usually don´t put tarts in my kids rooms as they don´t want that hehe..and the bathrooms have Yankee reeds in them).

-Beaux Savons Frais gingerbread men in Sugar Plum & Toffee Apple Crunch. I got this jar a while back and it contains 2 scents that mingled together so nicely that I decided to use them blended, 1 of each type. I got a really strong nice fruity scent, with predominant notes of the sugar plum. Lasting power was ok, about average. I feel when something actually gives off a scent in my kitchen tealight warmer then it´s short lived. I wish I could put an electric warmer but the layout of my kitchen doesn´t permit to put one there without being a hassle.

-Haley´s Heavenly Scents Pink Sugar Cookie Dough Bread (2 tarts) in the living room. I love these tarts, I think this is the best PSCDB scent out there. I used 2 tarts and got a nice throw for the first 4-5 hours, then the scent fizzled out pretty much. Still I enjoyed it and I always say I´d rather get 5 hours of strong than 10 of weak scent lol

-Country Home Scent Sugar Cookie in the living room (24W hot plate). I could not smell this at all. =(

Daily wax melts November 29th 2012

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Bedtime Bath (2 cubes) in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This scent is really awesome and strong! I think I reviewed it before =) It´s a very pretty lavender bubble bath kind of scent. It lasted all day long till the night and when it started to smell a bit perfumey I poured it out (I went to bed anyway). Really love this scent!!

-La Dolce Vita Love Spell Type (4 cubes) in the first floor (24W hot plate). I was really in the mood to melt a Love Spell scent so I picked this one. 2 cubes were giving a decent throw but I wanted a super strong scent so I added the last 2 from the clamshell. All in all really good but the throw could have been a bit better!

-Beaux Savons Frais Fountain of Youth (2 cubes) in the kitchen (tealight). This was a nice strong fresh scent, I believe it´s the same as Marie Antoinette´s Boudoir from TBG...it´s a floral citrus scent and it´s gorgeous!! Lasting power and strength were amazing!

-Tiffany Candles Pink Zucchini Bread (all 3!!) in the living room (24W hot plate). This was a yummy blend of creamy zucchini bread and pink sugar however it was sooooo light (1 tart) I could not smell it at all. I then added the last 2 pieces and I got a *light* throw out of this. Very disappointing and I don´t know why I keep having bad luck with Tiffany Candles these days =(

-Front Porch Pink Cookies in the living room (24W hot plate). This was a light sweet cookie scent. While it was light I could smell it all day long. I might use 1 1/2 tarts next time to see if it will make the scent stronger.

Daily wax melts November 27th 2012

-Lasting Scent Candles Spring Mountain Mint in the bedroom (24W hot plate). I just love this scent, I had a few of this and now I have no more =( It´s a super fresh minty herbal scent and when I melted it it was really strong and stayed all day long!

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Skinny Bitch in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was a fruity scent...it was really light but I could smell it. Nothing I´d repurchase though (came as part of a seedling melts sample pack).

-Scentsationals Autumn Leaves (2 cubes) in the kitchen. OMG this was outrageously strong! I melted this before in my living room and I totally loved it but this time it was just too much. It smells like actual crisp brown fall leaves with a hint of spice. A perfect fall scent however as I said, it was too much so I might try one cube next time.

-Tiffany Candles Ultimate Donut/Caramel Apple/Hocus Pocus (1 gingerbread man/each) in the living room (24W hot plate). I could barely smell anything even though in the jar the scent was pretty strong. I am not having the best luck with Tiffany´s these days =(

-Front Porch Cranberry Marshmallow in the living room (24W hot plate). This was just too spicy for me and I think I am not really into cranberry scents. It was crazy strong and lasted till I poured it out at night but I would not repurchase this particular scent!

Daily wax melts November 26th 2012

-FussAssMcGee Sleeping Beauty in the bedroom (2 tarts, 24W hot plate). A really awesome sweet lavender scent. This was pretty strong and lasted all day long!

-CFTKR Elf Sweat in the first floor (24W hot plate). Elf Sweat is a scent of various sweets (like candy cane, candy corn, syrup maybe etc.) with an effervescent note. To me it smelled pretty much like a sweet champagne scent. It was good but not my favorite. Lasting power and strength were great though!

-Pics, Petals & Scents Blueberry Zucchini Bread in the kitchen (tealight). This was fantastic and I am not usually much into blueberry scents! It was a sweet zucchini bread with the right amount of sweet blueberries. The intensity was perfect and the staying power as well!

-Tiffany Candles Birthday Bash (2 gingerbread men) in the living room (24W hot plate). I could not smell this at all...Nothing! And it was sooooo good cold! It´s a mix of fruit loops, toasted marshmallow and birthday cake but as I said...zero throw!

-Lasting Scent Candles Sweet Gooey Pumpkin in the living room (24W hot plate). I really enjoyed this sweet slightly spicy pumpkin scent. As I mentioned before I am not into pumpkin scents but this was really awesome! Fabulous staying power and throw on this one, too!

Tiffany Candles haul

Here is my most recent haul I got from Tiffany Candles a couple of weeks ago. There was a special offer for her reopening, every order over $40 (?) got a free clamshell and orders over $80 got an additional free jar of heart or gingerbread tarts which was an awesome offer I couldn´t resist!
I ordered quite a few new-to-me scents and I got an awesome heart jar in 3 of my favorite scents and a clamshell I really like, too, from Tiffany. I love how she paid attention to what her customers like!

I got some wood wick candles this time again! I just love Tiffany´s wooden wicks!

Here is the haul:

Daily wax melts November 19th 2012

-Jaimie Lauren´s Cupcakery in Snuggle Baby in my bedroom (24W hot plate). OMG this was super awesome! A very strong sweet sugary baby powder scent. It lasted all day and night long and probably would have lived another day but I replaced it in the end. Awesome!

-Tiffany Candles Stress Relief in the first floor (24W hot plate). I love Stress Relief but it´s best used in my bedroom as in larger rooms it somehow gets lost. I think I reviewed this quite a few times already =)

-Pics, Petals & Scents Love Me Tender in the kitchen (tealight). I really enjoyed this scent, it was fruity goodness! Smelled pretty strong through most of the day!

-TBG Key Lime Pie (2 cubes) in the living room (24W hot plate). There is something about key lime scents I love and something I hate. I can´t put my finger on it but while I love to smell it I dislike a note in it as well lol. Anyway, TBG has a strong key lime pie with amazing staying power!

-Bella´s Candles & Tarts Lemon Zucchini Biscotti in my living room (24W hot plate). This smelled so good! It was very lemon-y and the biscotti note definitely was there however I could not really detect the zucchini. Throw could have been stronger but it might be to blame on the intensity of the key lime pie tart!

Daily wax melts November 17th 2012

I am really sorry for the lack of updates in the previous days but it was a rough time as one of my bunnies had developed an abscess and had to put down yesterday as the reason was a malign tumor of her jaw bone. Now since already 2 bunnies of my group of 6 have passed away I am going to adopt 2 grown up does tomorrow. They are from my breeder and one of them is the mother of my last surviving girl. Will be interesting if they remember each other!

Here´s what I melted on 17th:

-Country Home Scent Pink Sugar in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was an awesome strong sweet pink sugar scent. I was really happy with this tart from CHS (after having not so wowing results for the longest time).

-Lasting Scent Candles Passion Berry Ice Tea in the first floor (24W hot plate). A yummy refreshing fruity scent. I am not sure what passion fruit is supposed to smell like but as I said...just fruity goodness! Of course great staying power and throw from LSC!

-Tiffany Candles Mystery scent shot in the kitchen (tealight). This definitely had banana and a strawberry scent in it, maybe also some kind of fruit slices scent. It was nice but pretty short-lived!

-Beaux Savon Frais Pink Sugar Cookie in the living room (24W hot plate). I couldn´t smell this at all =( A pity as on cold sniff it was yummy! I am letting the other pcs cure, maybe I was too impatient melting this.

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Snickerdoodle in the living room (24W hot plate). A really nice cinnamon cookie smell (the kind of cinnamon I can actually survive). The throw was really soft though.
I finally replaced the Granny´s and BSF tarts with something else but I can´t quite remember what I used!

Tiffany Candles haul

A few weeks ago I received another haul from Tiffany Candles. I think I placed my order on October 13th and within a little more than 2 weeks it shipped which was really fast considering how swamped Tiffany was with pouring all the stuff from her October 1st sale!

I received a big 2-wick candle in Fluffernutter for free which was an awesome gift! Thank you Tiffany! This was the first time getting her 2-wick candles and I burned/am burning) 2 so far and they perform really well!
I also ordered some of her fluted melts in newer scents and finally snagged 3 of the jars of hearts/gingerbread men. They are so pretty!

Btw Tiffany changed her wax formula recently so supposedly her tarts are now even stronger and need no cure time. Therefore the prices were raised a little and the free shipping for orders $50+ promo has ended, too.
Here is the wax porn, enjoy =)

Daily wax melts November 15th 2012

-CFTKR Sweet Tooth in the bedroom (24W hot plate). This is a super sweet strawberry cotton candy scent. It is a soft yet powerful fragrance. I didn´t care too much for this though as I dislike the majority of those fake straweberry scents. I replaced it with something fresh but I forgot what it was.

-Tiffany Candles Rosemary Mint in the first floor (24W hot plate). I really love this scent, it´s very spa-like. However even though this cured for at least 3-4 weeks now the throw was really weak. I wanted to toss the last piece in the warmer but forgot about it lol.

-Beaux Savons Frais Country Berry Hotcakes (1 gingerbread man) in the kitchen (tealight). A really nice sweet berry bakery scent however the staying power left a lot to be desired as after about an hour there was nearly nothing to smell anymore.

-Cupcake Candles Sugar Cookies (1 macaron) in the living room (24W hot plate). I tossed the whole big piece in the warmer but there was almost no scent throw. This was already super light upon cold sniff so I didn´t have high hopes anyways!

-The Bathing Garden Pink Sugar Cookie (2 cubes) in the living room (24W hot plate). This was very light, too! I could smell a little bit of the pink and a gentle bakery note but only if I was close to the warmer. I think in a smaller area this might be a nice tart though.

I replaced the Sugar Cookies and Pink Sugar Cookie tarts around mid-day to some stronger scents by CFTKR but I really don´t remember what I used as I just grabbed 2 random samples out of my huge CFTKR samples box!
