Daily wax melts February 15th 2013

-Scentsy French Lavender in the bedroom (3 cubes, 24W hot plate which is a no-no with Scentsy but seems to work for me). This was pretty strong by Scentsy standards (I am so not a fan of Scentsy and thinking of purging my stash from that brand). It was a very cologne-y lavender so it was not exactly what I was looking for (in the bedroom I prefer herbal authentic lavender). Yea, but strong and long-lasting so no complaints about that.

-CFTKR Berry Bellini in the first floor (24W hot plate). A good fresh tart berry drink scent. There was no effervescence though. It was about medium strong and lasted fairly well. I liked it, it smelled clean.

-TBG Sugar Plum Fairy (2 cubes, tealight) in the kitchen. This scent was really awesome! A very fresh tart citrus-based plum scent without any spice or Xmas-y notes. Pretty refreshing, strong and with amazing lasting power. I really love TBG in the kitchen as it´s one of the few brands that will perform perfectly in about any warmer.

-Front Porch Strawberry Blueberry Bread in the living room (24W hot plate). This was gross, the blueberry note made this smell like worn socks (sorry!) so I had to pour it out almost instantly (as in when it started to throw). I used something else (don´t remember what lol).

-Butterfly Lane Pink Cupcake in the living room (24W hot plate). I think these need a longer cure time, this one was super light, I just got a bit of pink sugar and a weird funnel-cake with cinnamon note so after a few hours I replaced it, too. I think I used some Serendipity blend from PPS instead of it.

Daily wax melts November 14th 2012

-Scentsy Just Breathe (2 cubes) in the bedroom (25W lightbulb). My favorite scent from Scentsy (and one of the only ones that is performing at all for me). A very fresh minty menthol kinda scent. Unfortunately as with most of my Scentsy bars this was short lived and lost its strength within just 4 hours or so.

-Granny´s Kountry Candles Fresh Bamboo in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was a good clean spa scent and smelled like all the other bamboo scents out there. It was not pungent though so I really and truly enjoyed this. The staying power was pretty good as it lasted pretty much until I poured it out.

-FussAssMcGee Lemon Meringue Pie in the kitchen (tealight). A good clean lemon scent with a touch of sweetness however the lemon part is really predominant. Smelled great and pretty strong until the tealight went out.

-Lasting Scent Candles Sweet Lemon Bread in the living room (24W hot plate). I really loved this scent shot! A very strong sweet lemon bakery scent with a fabulous throw and amazing staying power! Awesome!

-VDC Lala´s Sugar Cookie in the living room (24W hot plate). This was the first VDC product I really enjoyed. This was a sweet awesome almond sugar cookie. The scent was about medium strong and lasted all day long.

Scentsy haul

I got a haul from Scentsy recently which included 2 of their warmers. To be honest I am totally underwhelmed. The warmers seem to stay much too cool to melt even soft wax thus the throw once it´s melted (after maybe 45 mins or so?) is pretty non-existent. So far I am also not overly impressed by the scent strength and quality of the Scentsy bar so I am sure I am not going to be a customer in the future. Sad but true =( I just prefer my trusted and true vendors!!

Daily wax melts October 15th 2012

-Buggytown Pink Vanilla Bean in my bedroom (24W hot plate). I didn´t like how this smelled. I got neither a nice pink sugar nor a creamy vanilla bean noel. Just was a bit off. Scent throw was light which was fine for my bedroom but I poured it out after couple of hours.

-Country Home Scent Dreamy Cotton in the first floor (24W hot plate). This was a pleasant laundry type scent. It was not overly strong but I could smell it. It was just clean and pretty and lasted really well throughout the day.

-Scentsy Caramel Pear Crisp in my kitchen (2 cubes, tealight warmer). I was not a fan of this as it smelled too much like walnut or pecan to me. The pear was really subtle and I got no caramel. This was not strong though and fizzled out after 2-3 hours. Not a fan of Scentsy yet really

-CFTKR Brown Sugar Zucchini in my living room (24W hot plate). This was awesome! A really sweet and creamy zucchini bread with a strong throw. Lasting power wasn´t really perfect (5-6 hours) but it was really fantastic while it lasted!

-Front Porch Red Velvet Cake in my living room (24W hot plate). This was a sweet chocolate cake scent with a slight red fruit note. I didn´t care for this too much but it was ok. Lasting power and throw were great though.

Daily wax melts October 6th 2012

This day wasn´t really a waxy day as I was out with the kids for most of the day. I switched on my melters and got a few hours out of the tarts so I can review them but not say much about longevity!

-Shayz Scentz Pink Linen Sheets on my 20W hot plate in the first floor. A somewhat weird scent for me. It´s a pink sugar and laundry detergent mix. I am melting this today, too, and I can say the throw and lasting power don´t seem too great.

-Better Homes & Gardens Cranberry Chutney (2 cubes) in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. This smelled nice cold but when melted it developed a weird note. Overall not a huge fan of this scent! Throw was quite good though!

-Scentsy Black Ruby (2 cubes) in a 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. This was ok, had only a light scent throw and was very ...ummm.. non-descript. Wouldn´t repurchase and will have a hard time actually using this up!

-Tiffany Candles Paradise in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. A really pretty scent, I believe it´s strawberry, cotton candy and creamy vanilla or something. It smelled really nice and had a medium throw. I just received these a few days ago so I will let them cure longer before I use these again.

I was in a lemon bakery and tea kinda mood today =)

-Scentsationals Fireworks (2 cubes) in the first floor in my 20W hot plate warmer. This is an awesome scent! A kinda complex scent with notes of tangerine or another sweet citrus blend. But there is so much more to this I can´t describe! Super strong throw and amazing lasting power (it´s still going strong right now after about 10 hours)

-Pics, Petals & Scents Nana´s Lemon Pound Cake in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. A really yummy lemon bakery scent with a good throw and lasting power!

-CFTKR Tea and Cake on my 24W hot plate in the living room. Another winner for today! A super strong black tea with a creamy cake scent. This also has excellent staying power (also still going well now after 10 hrs). Really love this scent and would definitely buy a big 8oz bag!

-Scentsy Lemon Coconut Chiffon (2 cubes) in my Whoot Scentsy warmer in the living room. This is a nice scent with a light-medium throw however it does have a slight plastic note to it. So far I am also not sure how much I like the Scentsy warmer, it doesn't seem to get really that hot!

And yet another wax melt day passed =) I delighted myself with the following scents:

-Kristin´s Kandles Eucalyptus in the first floor on my 20W hot plate. I am not fond of this scent as it´s not herbal but rather perfumey. Throw and lasting power was good though.

-Front Porch Lemon Cotton Candy in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. I think FP tarts just need a hot plate as the throw was just mediocre. The scent was really yummy though - a really sweet lemon candy mix. Lasting power was good, too!

-Pics, Petals and Scents Frosted Lemon Birthday Cake on my 24W hot plate. I scooped about an oz of wax out of my loaf and it was absolutely AMAZING! A super strong long-lasting lemon bakery scent. I am so thrilled with this and I am so happy I have a whole loaf of this stuff!

-Scentsy Happy Birthday (1 cube) in my 25W lightbulb melter. This had a very light but pleasant kind of scent. Staying power was ok but next time I´ll use 2 cubes. The Pics, Petals & Scents tart overpowered this anyway =)

Daily Wax Melts September 20th 2012

My picks for 9/20 were:

-Tiffany Candles Sinus Relief in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the bedroom. A gorgeous blend of spearmint, peppermint and I eucalyptus (I believe). Smells a lot like the Stress Relief candle from B&BW. Stayed well and had a nice scent throw. 

-The Bathing Garden Midnight Masquerade (2 cubes) on my 20W hot plate in the first floor. Albeit this is a super light scent cold (barely detectable) it blooms like all TBG scents into a nice scent throw (I´d say light-medium for this scent) and lingered for quite most of the day. A perfumey slightly musky but creamy kinda scent,

-Country Home Scent Peach Cobbler in my tealight warmer in the kitchen. This had good scent throw and lasted most of the day but I wash´t so fond of this peachy bakery scent.

-Lasting Scent Candles Blackberry Plum Tea on my 24W hot plate in the living room. A pretty unique plum berry scent with an interesting black tea note.  I really liked this but it could have been even a bit stronger for my taste. Otherwise staying power was good.

-Scentsy Sunkissed Citrus (1 cube) in my 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. This was awesome, very strong and with excellent staying power. It overpowered the LSC melt a bit but it was really a nice refreshing orange lemon scent.

Daily Wax Melts September 18th 2012

Another fall day =) 

-Scentsy Just Breathe (1 cube) in my bedroom. This was extremely pleasant and refreshing. It was pretty strong even with just one cube! This smells like eucalyptus and peppermint.

-Nellie´s Acres palm wax tart in Lavender Vanilla in my 20W hot plate melter in the 1st floor. This had a  very light scent throw only though what I could detect stayed very well but as I said, just a faint scent. I don´t seem to be very lucky with palm wax tarts in general even though I like how easy they are to clean up (as I neither need to pour out the hot wax nor need to freeze the bowl to pop the wax out) but in general the scent throw so far has been too weak for my taste.

-Shayz Scentz Pink Brownie in my kitchen (one chocolate bar). This was surprisingly super strong and stayed well most of the day. This was a mix of chocolate and pink sugar and was a really good scent and I enjoyed it very much!

-CFTKR Autumn Magic in my living room in my 24W hot plate warmer. This was a great fall scent albeit not spicy at all. This had a sort of creamy slightly perfumey scent and the scent throw and staying power was great!

Scentsy haul

I recently placed my first order in a Scentsy online party hosted by one of the ladies in my fave FB wax group =) it took like 8 days to arrive but everything came in perfect condition in Scentsy's usual thermo-bag with ice packs.
I ordered two 6-packs for $25/each whereas the single tart packs retail for $5 so it was like getting 2 free bars.

I am pretty happy with my scent choices, especially loving Mediterranean Spa and Just Breathe!
