Daily wax melts October 30th 2012

-Beaux Savons Frais Pink Noel (2 cubes) in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was extremely light so I could only pick up a slight sweet note but there was no actual scent to detect. Will be using the last 4 cubes at once to see if I will get some throw out of them.

-Nellie´s Acres Lavender Vanilla (2 tarts) in the first floor (24W hot plate). To me most palm wax tarts just suck. Nellie´s are alright but only if you use a good amount (2 huge tarts!). I got a bit of a sweet lavender scent out but the throw was light at best. 

-AMS Fruit Loop Fluff in the kitchen (whole jumbo tart in the tealight warmer). This smelled so good cold but I got hardly any scent out of this huge piece of wax. Quite a disappointment.

-TBG Banana Cream Pie (2 cubes) in the living room (24W hot plate). I got this from a destash half a year ago. It smelled great cold but the scent throw I got from this was really light. One of the few duds from TBG I got so far and it might also be due to being an older clamshell.

-Better Homes & Gardens Sugared Vanilla Shortbread (2 cubes) in my living room (24W hot plate). This is a great sweet and light bakery scent without any kind of spices. I could only melt this for about 2 hours though as the voltage converter I use for my 24W hot plate in the kitchen broke =(

Daily wax melts October 16th 2012

-OMG! Candles Pink Sugar Buttermint in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was really lovely. A pink sugar peppermint blend but it was somehow fresher than some other pink peppermint scents I tried. Staying power was good, about 6 hrs maybe. I used one tart which was perfect for my bedroom but for my living room or 1st floor I´d use 2.

-CFTKR Nectarine Mint in my first floor (24W hot plate warmer). This was an awesome fruity scent with a fresh kick coming from the mint. This was really strong and it lasted really long (pretty much all day long!)

-The Bathing Garden random overpour sample in my kitchen (tealight warmer). I got no scent out of this which is so weird as normally almost all TBG performs nicely. 

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Sugar Cookie Zucchini Bread in my living room (24W hot plate). I used a whole loaf (I think 2-3 oz) and got a light-medium throw so I really have to say for me YOCC just has weak tarts as I had no luck with any except Pink Kaleidoscope (and even that one is still too light). I think I´ll try to melt up my stash using 2 pcs at a time. But I loved the scent, it was a sweet creamy zucchini bread blend.

-Nellie´s Acres Blueberry Cupcakes in my living room (24W hot plate). This was a pretty blueberry scent, one of the best ones I tried so far as often I am not a fan of blueberries. These cupcakes are so soft and mushy and they arrived already in a messy condition. I really enjoyed this one though and it was going strong most of the day long.

Daily Wax Melts September 18th 2012

Another fall day =) 

-Scentsy Just Breathe (1 cube) in my bedroom. This was extremely pleasant and refreshing. It was pretty strong even with just one cube! This smells like eucalyptus and peppermint.

-Nellie´s Acres palm wax tart in Lavender Vanilla in my 20W hot plate melter in the 1st floor. This had a  very light scent throw only though what I could detect stayed very well but as I said, just a faint scent. I don´t seem to be very lucky with palm wax tarts in general even though I like how easy they are to clean up (as I neither need to pour out the hot wax nor need to freeze the bowl to pop the wax out) but in general the scent throw so far has been too weak for my taste.

-Shayz Scentz Pink Brownie in my kitchen (one chocolate bar). This was surprisingly super strong and stayed well most of the day. This was a mix of chocolate and pink sugar and was a really good scent and I enjoyed it very much!

-CFTKR Autumn Magic in my living room in my 24W hot plate warmer. This was a great fall scent albeit not spicy at all. This had a sort of creamy slightly perfumey scent and the scent throw and staying power was great!

Nellies Acres haul

I first found Nellies Acres tarts via a youtube video posted by clsings7. She showed a big lot of leftover wax pours that the vendor sold on ebay for just a few bucks so I got one, too. I think I paid like $7 & shipping for 3lbs of tarts. When I received my lot all tarts were smashed and all kinda scents were thrown into that bag together so they smelled all a bit off. However I noticed that her tarts were really strong so I took advantage of a July special on her actual website and ordered a bunch of her tarts.
8-packs of palm wax tarts retail for $5 which is a good price for those fairly large tarts. I got 6 bags of the 8-packs. A pack of 5 bigger tarts ($4) and 2 packs of muffins ($6/each) but those are made of a soft wax so they arrived pretty deformed.
Scents are pretty much mostly bakery and the tarts smell strong on cold throw. When melted the tarts are medium strong.
I am not a big fan of palm wax as most of the time the scent throw is very bad. Nellie's are decent though. The good thing about palm wax is that once it's cooled and turned back into a solid you can just pop it out of the warmer without freezing it.
