Daily wax melts November 21st 2012

-CFTKR Pink Sugared Peppermint in the bedroom (24W hot plate). Carol has one of the sweetest most awesome pink sugar peppermint scents. This was really yummy, but it was a pretty soft scent and had just average staying power!

-Better Homes & Gardens Snowy Evergreen Forest (2 cubes) in the first floor (24W hot plate). I didn´t enjoy this scent at all. It smelled like a pretty pine fir kinda scent at first but it got a funky note over time so it caused me a bad headache. Granted I poured this out and replaced it with something fresh. 

-TBG Carrot Cake in the kitchen (2 cubes, tealight). This was a pretty not overly spicy carrot cake scent. I really liked this and it had a medium throw and good staying power (through one 8-hour tealight).

-Cupcake Candles Mrs Santa Claus Cookie in the living room (24W hot plate). This was very light and I didn´t get a cookie note, to me this smelled *exactly* like Vanilla Bean Noel from BBW! I mean exactly! I liked it but it was light!

-Jaimie Lauren Cupcakery Sugar Cookie Brulée in the living room (24W hot plate). I didn´t get much scent out of this one, I think the creme brulee scent is light as it is though!

Daily wax melts October 30th 2012

-Beaux Savons Frais Pink Noel (2 cubes) in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This was extremely light so I could only pick up a slight sweet note but there was no actual scent to detect. Will be using the last 4 cubes at once to see if I will get some throw out of them.

-Nellie´s Acres Lavender Vanilla (2 tarts) in the first floor (24W hot plate). To me most palm wax tarts just suck. Nellie´s are alright but only if you use a good amount (2 huge tarts!). I got a bit of a sweet lavender scent out but the throw was light at best. 

-AMS Fruit Loop Fluff in the kitchen (whole jumbo tart in the tealight warmer). This smelled so good cold but I got hardly any scent out of this huge piece of wax. Quite a disappointment.

-TBG Banana Cream Pie (2 cubes) in the living room (24W hot plate). I got this from a destash half a year ago. It smelled great cold but the scent throw I got from this was really light. One of the few duds from TBG I got so far and it might also be due to being an older clamshell.

-Better Homes & Gardens Sugared Vanilla Shortbread (2 cubes) in my living room (24W hot plate). This is a great sweet and light bakery scent without any kind of spices. I could only melt this for about 2 hours though as the voltage converter I use for my 24W hot plate in the kitchen broke =(

Had a couple of duds that day =(

-Tiffany Candles Pink Peppermint in my bedroom (24W hot plate). No need to write much about this as I reviewed it before =D It´s an awesome fresh but sweet blend of peppermint and pink sugar. As always it was strong and lasted till I poured it out!

-Scentsationals Grapefruit Sage in the first floor (1 cube). This was a really good fresh and super strong fruity scent. The sage was toning down the sweetness, all in all this was more zesty and tart. Really lovely! Scent throw was amazing, almost overpowering and lasting power was great, too.

-Better Homes & Gardens Chocolate Peppermint Truffle (2 cubes) in my kitchen (tealight). This was a very light mint chocolate scent. The throw wasn´t that great and it didn´t last long either. I got this in a destash so it might have been a bit older already.

-Victoria´s Designer Creations Million Dollar Shortbread in my living room (24W hot plate). This didn´t win a million in my book, it won nothing lol. It had no throw even though I tossed in the whole big loaf. If I put my nose right on top of the warmer I got a whiff of something sweet but all in all this was a dud.

-LSC Sticky Blackberry Latte in my living room (24W hot plate). I am not a coffee scent lover but this was seriously nice. The coffee note was very faint, I smelled mainly the tart juicy blackberry with a light bakery note. Awesome! Strong and long lasting, too!

-La Dolce Vita Amazingly Grace (2 cubes) in my bedroom (24W hot plate). This smells just like Philosophy´s Amazing Grace body care. A sweet soft pretty unobtrusive floral which I thought would be perfect for the bedroom. I got only a really light scent throw out of this, it was barely detectable. In fact my Tiffany Candles wood wick in Sinus Reliefe & Rosemary Mint was smelling stronger even though it wasn´t lightened (but the cover wasn´t screwed on). A disappointment all in all.

-The Bathing Garden London Mist (2 cubes) in the first floor (24W hot plate). This smelled pretty light in the clamshell but as almost always with TBG I got a strong throw all day long out of these 2 cubes. This was a soft fresh scent mixed with a bit of floral notes. Really lovely!

-Better Homes & Gardens Mandarin Orange Zest (2 cubes) in my kitchen (tealight). This scent was super strong. I mean smack-in-your-face-and-tickle-your-nose strong! The scent got softer after about couple of hours and I have learned a lesson: never use 2 cubes of this stuff, 1 will rock your world! It was awesome though, a super fresh citrus blend!

-Pics, Petals & Scents Orange Chiffon Cake (about 2 bars aka 8 small pcs) in my living room (24W hot plate). This also was super strong and smelled awesome! The bakery notes were faint, this was more of a sweet orange scent. Long-lasting, too! Awesome! Pics, Petals & Scents is starting to be one of my favorite vendors!

-CFTKR Sugar Cookie Zucchini (3 slices) in my living room (24W hot plate). The orange scents were both pretty overpowering this scent but nonetheless I got that sweet sugary zucchini note and it was really awesome! Lasted most of the day, too!

Today I wanted some citrus bakery going on!

-Lasting Scent Candles Emerald Rock Candy in my 20W hot plate in the first floor. This was an awesome scent! It was sweet and slightly citrusy but it had a tad bit of a creamy sugary vanilla. Really loved this one and it was going strong all day long!

-FussAssMcGee Pumpkin Vanilla Custard (2 cubes) in my kitchen in a tealight warmer. Even though this wasn´t a kick-butt strong scent it was noticeable and very pretty. Actually I would not have liked this in strong so I was very content with its performance.

-Better Homes & Gardens Orange Cream Cupcake (2 cubes) in my 20W hot plate in the living room. This is just an awesome scent. A lot like the hot orange danish scents from other vendors. A sweet orange bakery scent with great lasting power and a really good scent throw!

-CFTKR Frosted Lemon Cookie Snap in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. This complemented the BH&G scent really nicely as this was a sweet lemon bakery scent. This was also strong and lasted most of the day long!

All in all I was very pleased with my choices. I got 2 new cuter 24W hot plate warmers so except in my kitchen I have hot plates in all my "melting spots" now. I still do use my cute rabbit 25W bulb warmers for my Scentsy bars and in my bedroom occasionally though!

Daily wax melts October 6th 2012

This day wasn´t really a waxy day as I was out with the kids for most of the day. I switched on my melters and got a few hours out of the tarts so I can review them but not say much about longevity!

-Shayz Scentz Pink Linen Sheets on my 20W hot plate in the first floor. A somewhat weird scent for me. It´s a pink sugar and laundry detergent mix. I am melting this today, too, and I can say the throw and lasting power don´t seem too great.

-Better Homes & Gardens Cranberry Chutney (2 cubes) in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. This smelled nice cold but when melted it developed a weird note. Overall not a huge fan of this scent! Throw was quite good though!

-Scentsy Black Ruby (2 cubes) in a 25W lightbulb warmer in the living room. This was ok, had only a light scent throw and was very ...ummm.. non-descript. Wouldn´t repurchase and will have a hard time actually using this up!

-Tiffany Candles Paradise in my 24W hot plate warmer in the living room. A really pretty scent, I believe it´s strawberry, cotton candy and creamy vanilla or something. It smelled really nice and had a medium throw. I just received these a few days ago so I will let them cure longer before I use these again.

Another beautiful cool but sunny day here =)

-Aunt Nena's Sage Pomegranate in my 20W hot plate warmer in the 1st floor. A great strong tart scent. It's a fruity, herbal and refreshing smell. I think thus is the same as TBG Pomegranate Jubilee.

-Lasting Scent Candles Fresh Baked Bread in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. This was like the first tart from LSC that turned out to be somehow a dud. Smelled very faint of white bread and faded very quickly.

-Better Homes & Gardens Sugared Melon Kiwi (2 cubes) on my 24W hot plate in the living room. I think this is by default a soft scent but it was sweet with a nice scent throw. Overall I was happy with this. Lasting power was average. 6-7 hrs perhaps.

I didn't get to melt anything yesterday as I was getting ready for respectively attending a wedding.
Today it was a slightly cool but sunny day giving us a taste of fall.

-CFTKR Pink Sugared Serendipity in a 20W hot plate warmer in the first floor. I mainly smelled the pink sugar scent and it had a light throw. Staying power was ok though.

-Better Homes & Gardens Wildberry Cheesecake, 2 cubes in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. The 2 cubes were definitely needed. Scent throw was light-medium and it was a pure sweet berry without real bakery notes in my book. I liked it though!

-Rosegirls Buttermilk Pancakes, 1 chunk on my 24W hot plate. I expected this to be on the lighter side naturally and it was. I sometimes caught a whiff of the scent and this was nice but overall it was almost not detectable.

A super hot day again =( I wish the fall weather would just stay as is but the hot days are supposed to be ending within the next days.

-Better Homes & Gardens Tranquil Garden Spa 2 cubes on a 20W hot plate in the first floor. A nice fresh yet soft scent with a cucumber note. Average lasting power only though.

-The Bathing Garden Coconut Candy Apple, 2 cubes in a tealight warmer in my kitchen. Good throw and a really good sweet mellowed out version of BBW's Winter Candy Apple. Good medium-strong throw and a great longevity.

-Sugar & Spice Gourmet Berry Bundt Noel. A vanilla-berry blend with a slight bakery with a good scent throw however the scent itself turned into a very weird cinnamon vanilla cookie scent I don't care for.

A very cool early autumn day today so went for fruity bakery and a crisp citrus linen scent.

-CFTKR Citrus Linen H2O in a tealight warmer in the 1st floor. This is an amazing citrus laundry type scent. I am not so much into laundry detergent scents but this smells great! Very strong throw and good longevity.

-Better Homes & Gardens Orange Buttercream Cupcake. 1 cube in a tealight warmer in the kitchen. A totally fabulous creamy rich orange bakery scent. Strong throw in my huge open kitchen with even only 1 cube!

-Ye Olde Candle Cubbard Pink Kaleidoscope in my 20W hot plate in my living room. Such a pretty tart, almost too pretty to melt. The description says it's a mix of cotton candy, orange, strawberry, raspberry, vanilla, caramel, gooey marshmallow and key lime pie. This is such an amazing and mouth-watering scent it's incredible. I just love it and could bathe in it lol. Throws well and fills up my large living room with all its goodness easily!

 

Small Better Homes & Gardens and Scentsationals haul

I never tried BH&G and Scentsationals until recently when I received some clamshells in couple of destash boxes.
These are inexpensive ($2) and available at Walmarts.

I tried a few of the ones I received and one cube easily scents up a huge area in my experience.

BH&G:
-Shimmering Cherry Blossom (a soft yet potent floral. My least fave)

-Fresh Ocean Flowers (a mix of a clean laundry scent and a soft fresh floral. Very good strong scent!)

-Sugared Melon Kiwi (fresh fruity scent)

-Fragrant Evergreen Forest (a scent of spruce and/or fir trees, perfect for Xmas and winter in general)

-Hawaiian Pineapple Cilantro (a nice fresh summer scent, fruity yet refreshing)

Scentsationals:
-Timeless Devotion (floral mixed with fruit, yet a very pleasant and lovely scent! Very strong!)

-Spa (my favorite! A super fresh minty herbal and clean scent)

I am super excited as I just scored a lot of over 60 BH&G (and maybe Scentsationals?) clamshells on FB in a huge destash lot for like $1.20/each. Will post about it when I get it!
